Freeper with a 9mm Clenis.
I had to laugh at this guy.

I was working the Publix parking lot getting candidate petition cards signed for a friend yesterday, and Grizzly Adams and his wife were walking by. I asked if they were registered voters, and they said yes. I then asked if they would care to sign a petition card to get my friend, a Democrat, on the ballot for Congress this fall.

Grizzly sez, "I'm a 9mm in the suspenders Republican". No big deal, I say I have guns at home too.

Grizzly sez, "Yeah, but I carry mine"! As if I'm intimidated.

I reply, "What are you so scared of"? He just walked away scratching his head.

What's with some of these people? I have nothing against guns in general, or hunting. But, don't they think they're a complete human being unless armed to the teeth? Have they ever run across a situation in their life, where they needed a gun to defend themselves? What a moran.

1. He threatened you in a public place?
Did you have any witnesses who aren't freepers?

You could take actions. I certainly would if someone threatened me with his firearm.

3. I didn't take it as a threat.
More an act of complete stupidity.

11. Well, technically it can be both.
But if you didn't feel threatened - i guess taht's something you would have to be there to know. I can only say I found the incident disturbing myself.

13. Wait a moment, we dont know if that was a physical threat.
Tone and inflection missing from the typed word and all.

I think it was more of a pissing/cock size contest in the freeps mind. Licensed to carry types often have these bozos in their ranks, he carries for bragging rights and his usual bravado didn't quite work this time.

At least IMHO.

How did you get that he threatened him with his firearm? Not attacking here, just wondering if I am so foggy headed this AM that I missed something.

14. If someone makes a point of mentioning they are carrying a fire arm
that is an implied threat, in my opinion. But you are right, inflection is everything; and apparently the author of this post didn't feel threatened.

16. Yes I see that and noticed your reply... I had this post tabbed out
and didnt realize my question had already been answered.

Seriously though you should get to know a few of the licensed to carry wing nuts, they pull this all the time. Like clockwork, if guns get brought up (usually by themselves) they auto refer to the one they are carrying.

Its like someone mentioning how big their prick is every time something sexual is mentioned. I once watched two 40ish year olds throw down over a little scuttlebut about such a thing.
More or less it went like this....

Wingnut1: Everyone should carry then no one would start shit anymore.

Wingnut2(has no carry permit but carries a rambo knife with him everywhere): Uh uh I could take your ass down if Im within 5 feet of you with my knife.

The demonstration that ensued was one of the most starkly revealing displays of idiocy I have ever seen in my life (and Ive seen some seriously stupid shit up close and personal). About 5 minutes later after wingnut2 had accidentaly cut not only himself once but his buddy wingnut1 as well. Problem was wingnut2 took the oppurtunity to really get into character and called his friend up on a blue streak, wingnut1 responded after the fight with (you guessed it) drawing his pistol and pointing it not only at wingnut2 but all of us who had been laughing our asses off at their idiocy. Now for the punchline... he actually said this verbatim with some spittle flying out of his mouth, "Im taking my gun and going home"!!! he followed it with a threat about not fucking with his wife. Wingnut 1 and 2 started getting drunk together again after about a week.

It was one of the reasons why I had to get away from the southwest, I seemed to find myself hanging out with these kinds of guys all the time because I like living out in the boonies. I figured eventually one of 'em was gonna try and do something about me eventually.

4. If he walked into a building near you that has one of those signs
pointing out that it was unlawful to enter with a weapon . . . point out to the police that you were aware that the gentleman was breaking the law . . .

6. This is Florida.
You're not only allowed to carry a concealed weapon, but you can shoot people that you feel threatened by.

Maybe he thought my clipboard was a weapon.

12. Shoulda shot him, then. He threatened you.
But then, you would have broken the law (since you had "communist propaganda" on you - the Dem petition).

In Ohio, a bunch of freepturds have their g-strings in a knot, saying "Well, no criminal is going to be bothered by a sign saying it's illegal to bring a gun into the building." I want to know how the Ten Commandments, situated blocks to miles away in a public park or in front of the courthouse, would change the criminal's mind then?

5. Small penis complex
They feel inferior to average men, so they have to have a weapon to make them feel like a powerful man. More of a reflection on their inner inadequacies, rather then their fear of what's around them.

This is common for the Freeper and Republican species. Occasionally, you will run across a female of those species, and their inner turmoil has developed into a rabid penis envy complex.

17. Good point
I have worked in 'the hood' for 26 years and never once have I been threatened or felt unsafe. I would never dream of carrying a weapon to and from work.

It seems to me that the people who won't come into that part of town without packing heat are making wild and completely false assumptions. Their attitude reeks of racism as well.

And BTW, I have met a few of these types right here on DU :scared:

...but a gun worshipper is something else.
