VICE PRESIDENT RUMSFELD? Russert slip of the tongue?
Or revealing Freudian slip? Just heard Timmy say, "Vice President Rumsfeld" during an interview with Katie Couric. My partner and I were ROFL!! Oh my, they do give them themselves away, don't they!

3. I have to agree
I mean even with an all-GOP senate, they'd never agree to letting Rummy be VP, he's just that incompetent.

7. I am not sure... think about his age

Whoever Bush would pick would have a very large head start for the 2008 bid. If he did not pick McCain, IMHO the Repugs would never accept a young person like Rice. Too many of them want to run. Again IMHO Rummy age would get a lot of Repugs votes.

5. Interesting point
I was just thinking that when I read your post.

Now if the prior poster is right (that the Senate would never agree with it), and since under the 26th Amendment the President gets to pick the new VP, could Bush make a "Recess Appointment", ala Bolton?

Now wouldn't THAT make a fine mess?
