No pretensions at Separation of Church and State.....

I can never remember pre-George W. and the current crop of christian right right-wing fanatic pandering representatives of the Republican party when things were this open and disgusting. Here in Red State, Redneck Alabama it is ridiculous. First off we have Roy Moore, the ten commandments judge running for Governor. His commercials are all about sovereignty to God...and as if that weren't enough, just about all of the other Republicans running for any office are now more than ever wearing their religion on their sleeves and their T.V. commercials. Supreme Court candidates telling how they are pro-life and support a constitutional amendment on gay marriage, and get this how they are pro-business. A candidate for Senate has on his commercial that he got an A+ from the Christian coalition and the NRA, also pro-business. I guess they know the majority of their audience here, dumber than a fucking rock. I swear I live in the stupidest state in the union. It is so bad here that it does one little good to run as a Democrat or Independent because all these morons just vote a straight Republican ticket. I get so tired of these Fox News watchers voting against their own self interest because its against my self interest also. I don't think things will change here anytime soon because these fuckers have been trained to not think for themselves. They don't even notice that the same stupid issues are brought up right before each election and nothing is done to achieve any of their stupid back wards ass goals in between the elections, so I guess its no surprise that they don't notice all the fucked up shit the President and the Republicans do in between the elections.

I have to chuckle at the notion of "values" voters. I asked a neighbor who exceedingly thinks of himself as a values kinda guy if our community was chock full of "values" why did we need a police force? Why is the local newspaper full of arrest listings? Why are signs for DNA and drug testing nailed to every other electric pole? Why are the piney woods full of meth labs? And why do "christians" spend so much time trying to pass laws based on their hate of others? Gosh, I didn't get much of an answer. And yes, this is bush country.

In my business, when patients base their lives of fabricated values, that is to say beliefs that have no scientific basis whatsoever, I have to be concerned about their cognitive processes.
