I was able to get through and chastise him and others in the corporate-controlled media for abdicating their role as a watchdog --

he was a jerk, as usual --- made it sound as if he must be objective since he gets it from both sides.

I told him that he might "ask the hard questions," but that he lets the Condi's and the Dick Cheney's to sit there and lie and lie and lie, unchallenged by Russert, who knows his place in the coporate "news" hierarchy.

Later on, another called accused the media of "getting it wrong" so much and not admitting it.

Russert's response: We admit was called the 2000 Flordia vote for Gore too early. But we fixed that.

Right -- I'm sure they did. He is beyond hope.

IMHO. I saw him briefly on the Today Show this morning at it again. What is most disgusting about him is that people actually trust him. How people like him lie, miscontrue the truth and spin against the very people who trust them and keep a straight face is beyond me. He fucking sucks.

After Campaign 2000, a caller to C-SPAN similarly confronted him as giving Shrub a free media ride, in a long list of outlets "like Fox." Of course, the host disconnected the call, then G.E.RUSSERT said, "The caller is incorrect. I do not work for Fox. I work for NBC." It was perfectly clear what the caller was saying, but couldn't respond.

for, were not for his and the rest of the msm's lying, there might be a revolution in this country against the bushit boy, his lies, his poppy's evil empire, and against a war which had and has no reason to be.

I heard you, too. You expressed yourself very well. Russert's reply was to say he did ask the hard questions but he couldn't say they were lying because at the time he asked the questions he didn't know they were lying. And he says they (Cheney, Rumsfield) won't come back on his program. Seems to me he is very uniformed and does little investigation before he asks these questions. He copped out on what you brought up.

Only one thing was missing - and it's the "escape hole" he used. It must be emphasized that there's no "balance" between truth and falsehoods, between delusions and reality. Timmy and Brian BOTH love to claim they get complaints from both 'sides' - and that somehow 'proves' they're balanced. Nonsense.
