B*sh: "We have no beef with Iran"
Edited on Fri May-26-06 09:29 AM by npincus
"No beef"? That is how the Commander-in-Chief of the US articulates our foreign policy with Iran? Then, a few questions later he apologizes for using "unsophisticated" language with respect to Iraq?

Did anyone else roll their eyes wwhen the Chimp dropped that one? Such colloquial language is acceptable for a person with that level of repsonsiblity addressing a potential crisis or has the bar been lowered THAT much?

I know Chimp has sputtered and stuttered and floundered and battled with the English language for the last 5 1/2 years, but REALLY when does the MSM call him on it? I 'have a beef' with THAT.

1. I agree.
I can't understand how such a position of responsibility and authority can be occupied by a court jester with the mental capacity of a cantaloupe. Neither can I reconcile the notion that so few are even willing to acknowledge his ineptitude. Many that have the guts to comment on this 'folksy' behavior do so only in the name of giving him a pass, and for the most ludicrous of reasons...among them: "He's under a lot of pressure," "He's speaking from the heart and not off paper," and the granddaddy of 'em all, "He doesn't want to appear intellectually superior to his public."

Give me a ####ing break. As the saying goes, 'stupid is as stupid does.' This guy is not only vacuous, he's vile, arrogant and stubborn to boot. Could anyone possibly believe that this is the best we can bring to the presidency of this great country?

6. "vile, arrogant and stubborn to boot."
That is a pretty accurate description of a large amount of the American people.

George Carlin summarized it up pretty well:

Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don't fall out of the sky. They don't pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents, and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens.

This is the best we can do, folks. This is what we have to offer. It's what our system produces. Garbage in, garbage out!

9. I would agree that those words may describe some, but...
I don't know that they accurately describe a 'large amount' of Americans. I imagine there are quite a few in that number who are more likely possessed of only one or two of those traits, rather than all four.

It might be wishful thinking, but I'd like to believe that *Jr is a special breed that isn't all that common.

10. I'm tired of parsing nits to get a glimmer at the code words that hint at
the possible allusion to what they want some elements of society to percieve as the truth. It's too fucking complicated. I want a president who just says what he means.
