A beauty from the ExxonMobil "Citizen Action Team"...
Edited on Fri May-26-06 11:16 AM by TWriterD
re the ANWR vote. Does anyone know U.S. oil consumption per day? I'm Googling, but the numbers are coming back all over the place. What's a reputable source to reference? (Thanks.)

Subject: Call to Action: Urge Congress to support ANWR

Dear ,

As early as tomorrow, the U.S. House of Representatives will hold a vote on the critical issue of whether to authorize environmentally-responsible oil and gas development in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR). While this development would be limited to no more than 2000 acres (of ANWR's 19 million acres), it could provide up to 10.4 billion barrels of oil, increasing America's total proven reserves by nearly 50 percent.

At peak production, ANWR could deliver up to 1.5 million barrels of oil each day to the American economy and create up to one million new jobs, according to recent estimates. If you agree that our national energy policy must include the development of one of America's greatest prospects for increased domestic oil and natural gas production, please consider contacting your Congressman or Congresswoman as soon as possible to urge a "YES" vote on H. R. 5429, "the American-Made Energy and Good Jobs Act."

1. Don't know the actual facts, but I would bet that if Exxon is saying this,
it is a lie.
