OMG!! Casualty at the Rayburn Bldg.
MSNBC just showed a policewoman on a gurney.

She appears to have stepped off a curb and sprained her ankle.

True story.

God, we must look like a nation of chickenshits.

1. CNN will give it wall-to-wall.
Tomorrow Solidad O'Brien will show the many ways an ankle can be sprained.

22. Followed by ...
Edited on Fri May-26-06 12:45 PM by NanceGreggs
... Dr. Sanjay Gupta weighing in on the medical implications, complete with graphs, charts and a plaster ankle to demonstrate the affected area.

Anderson Cooper will host a special: "Sprained Ankles - The Hidden Disabler", and CNN Headline's 'Hollywood' edition will discuss celebrities who have sprained their ankles over the years, complete with photos of stars on crutches.

Yup, they're not going to let a BIG STORY like this one get away!

Just heard it on local radio news.

You remember he got "face time" often during the Clinton era, attacking Clinton. His only expression used to be a psychotic sneer in those days.

Georgia Congressman's Staffer Hospitalized After Gunfire Reports

POSTED: 1:41 pm EDT May 26, 2006
UPDATED: 1:59 pm EDT May 26, 2006

WASHINGTON -- Guns drawn, police briefly sealed off the Capitol Friday and launched a floor-by-floor search of the largest office structure on Capitol Hill after an unidentified caller reported gunfire. Amid chaos and confusion, police said there were no arrests or confirmation of the gunfire.

A staffer for Rep. Jack Kingston (R Ga.) was taken from the Rayburn House Office Building on a stretcher. She was transported to a hospital by ambulance.

Police say she may have suffered from a "panic attack".

"The report is that shots were fired" at 10:30 a.m. EDT in the garage of the Rayburn House Office Building, said Capitol Police spokeswoman Sgt. Kimberly Schneider.

I can't help but wish they HAD hauled Jack Kingston away. It would be a very positive step. Georgians should be ashamed to elect garbage like that.

49. Yup, I'm afraid
this looks utterly ridiculous to the outside world.

I can only imagine what Iraqis will think of it if the story makes their evening news tonight.

If so, it's most likely to be in the form of one of those end-of-the-news, raise-a-weary-smile kind of stories:

"And a funny scene today in the US capital Washington as loads of people, mainly news crews and special ops sharp shooters, ran around looking silly and getting very exceited about very little. God bless America."
