1. Haven't heard anything - not that that means much
They'll just sneak him when Paula Abdul gets a DWI or Britney drops her baby or some such shit.

2. Yes. The Senate voted. He's in.
Dirk Kempthorne, or something like that. The only Senator who got up to oppose the confirmation was Sen. Bill Nelson, Florida. He said he didn't want any oil drilling off the Florida coasts. If memory serves me correctly, they took a cloture vote to close debate, then a voice vote to confirm him.

6. What a ridiculously lopsided vote - Kempthorne is such a blatant
company man.

9. I expected more to show their environmental chops - especially with all
the serious discussions going on about the environment these days.

5. Kind of odd for Clinton -
But, I'm glad she's seeing the wisdom of shifting left. Some of the Clinton crowd may be waking up to the smell of coffee.

7. There never seems to be an end to these bottomfeeders
BushCo digs up a bad guy to join his team and if that person doesn't get confirmed, another bad guy is waiting in the wings to take the first one's place. Seems like it is a bottomless pit.

4. Yes It's Official: Kempthorne Is Interior Secretary
It is a gain for Idaho because they got rid of their governor, but such a big loss for the country.
