How chickenshit ARE we? If I were to think like a terrorist .....

..... I'd be looking for ways to get by our new 'post 9/11' security.

It seems like the old 'look over there/do over here' strategy could be a pretty easy thing to do. With security on such a hair trigger, and with the response being swift and massive, how hard would it be to use this response as a cover for something else?

And just how stupid do we look?

he banged on it? Could be. He might have had better light in there. Those elevator shafts are dark.

What was the source for the gunman in the gym? Fox news?

I'm still wondering why there was no videotape in the basement security cameras, but maybe that's as accurate as the gunman in the gym. (Or the elevator mechanic removed the tape to tie the elevator cable back together. Improvisation in the face of supply shorages.)

So in fact, it's even worse. They failed to consider the integrity of the source (if they even knew the source) of the telephone call.

Instead, they went into panic mode. (Of course it didn't hurt on the PR front; everybody loves to see the FBI, Homeland Security, the Capitol Police, and various SWAT teams in action all at the same time.)

The reactionary and uncritical media were used yet again as the tools they are; nobody there questioned the original source until this farce was firmly in motion and out of control.

I'm just surprised the cable channels nixed the theme music and title for this one.

You are right, H2S. This is really embarrassing.
