Send your love to the four senators who voted against the three
nominations today:

Clinton
Dayton
Harkin
Kerry

Every other senator voted for at least one of the three nominees.

She did not vote on any of these votes.

4. I hope nothing is wrong - she would have been a solid vote against.

6. I guess that she knew the votes were not in play and that she had
something else planned.

2. God love Tom Harkin
Too bad we've got Grassley cancelling him out.

5. Damn, you'd think it was an election year or something.
Ok, enough sarcasm.

I know Feingold voted against Hayden - and he's been very consistent with calling BS, well Bullshit. So if he voted for one of the other nominees, I'm gonna assume he knows what he's doing and didn't vote that way strictly to undermine Democrats everywhere or please someone in DLC he's beholden to or any of the other various things that people will be posting about him shortly.

We elect (hopefully) leaders, not poll watching panderers-to-the-base - and we expect (hopefully) that they have the intelligence to make sound decisions. I don't expect to agree with all of them all the time.

13. Do you know the deal on Kempthorne?
http://www.sierraclub.org/pressroom/releases/pr2006-03-16.asp

You can kiss off any support from Counterpuke and their pals for Feingold now. Oh wait, that's assuming they would have supported him anyway...and assuming any consistency or intellectual honesty from them, which is a really bad assumption anyway.

16. Counterpunch has no respect for any Dem - they wanted Wellstone to lose.
They only feign support for a Dem now and then, only when they think they can use it to cause division and blowups between various supporters.

15. Actually it fits with his overall record - Feingold believes a prez should
GET the appointee he wants. It's unusual for Russ to vote AGAINST someone based on his record over the years and his philosophy. That's why Dems historically give both Dodd and Feingold the space to vote for Bush's picks - it's their philosophy and they stick to it.

I'm sick and tired of sending "love" to these people for doing their jobs. Geez...

9. They certainly benefit from diminished expectations
When they occasionally follow their oath of office we feel the need to lavish them with praise.

17. Tomorrow or the day after
those 4 will be on the "bad Democrat" list. It's kind of hard to know each day which Democrat is going to be acceptable and which not. Hey, I thought Clinton was "in bed" with Murdock last week and didn't someone snap a photo of Kerry smiling at Bush? I even believe those 4 have shaken even hands with Bush or at least acknowledged his presence. :sarcasm:
