Why the hell are we still looking for a mouldering corpse of Hoffa ?????
I cannot believe the FBI and Justice Dept are just wasting tax-payer money on a wild goose chase. The now destroyed a barn and how much landscape for what??? Hoffa ran a criminal enterprise via the Teamsters and got himself tied to the mafia, good riddance. Now all these years later this has become a priority case to find his body.....WTF is wrong with leadership in this country. I have to believe its a scheme to bury more relevant news stories, Abramoff, Rove, Libby, NSA, etc. Shouldn't we be making a similar effort to find Osama bin Laden.

4. Reminds me of Geraldo's ventures into mines looking for gold
and finding nothing. But it has some entertainment value.

7. $165,000 to replace the barn, I heard.
My friend thinks they wish to rid themselves of the embarrassment of not solving the case.

9. one theory I have
is that they have a prime suspect in them murder, who is still alive. Since there is no statute of limitations on murder...

another option is that it is one more thing to keep the labor movement marginalized, by forcing the continued association, in people's minds, between organized labor and organized crime.

when they have him on tape doing the crime, caught him with the money, and the person who did the bribing pleaded no contest?

13. "high level of suspicious activity on the farm"
http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2006/05/19/3_decades_on_fbi_digs_for_hoffa_at_mich_farm/
3 decades on, FBI digs for Hoffa at Mich. farm
Site, linked to mob, was searched before

"The farm, just outside Detroit, used to be owned by a Teamsters official.
And mob figures used to meet at a barn there before Hoffa's disappearance,
authorities said."

"A law enforcement official in Washington said the latest search was based
on information developed several years ago and verified more recently.

Among other things, there was a high level of suspicious activity on the farm
the day Hoffa vanished, the official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
A backhoe appeared that day near the barn where organized crime members had
sometimes met, and that location was never used again, the official said.

At the time of Hoffa's disappearance, the property was owned by Rolland McMaster,
a longtime Teamsters official.

It is now under different ownership and is called Hidden Dreams Farm.

15. The farm? Not even close
He was last seen publicly at that restaurant in Bloomfield on Woodward and Square lake Road. He took a ride and was wacked in the car. Taken to a the construction site of I696 and Dequinder in Warren. And then buried at the bottom of a hole dug for the footing for the overpass at Dequinder and I696. This was in late July, '75 I think it was. The FBI should know this, they ordered it as the teamster fund was being raided by the republicans for political donations, and Jimmy was directing the kickbacks, so the FBI ordered him wacked by Giacalone as the wise guys became the FBI's muscle during WWII, to protect wartime shipping from nazi sympathizer longshoremen. Anytime someone political needed wacking, the mob was willing, for a price.

How do I know this? My friend's cousin's next door neighbor's brother in-law worked in a bar where he overheard what happened from a very "reliable" source.

Honest, it's true. Dig-up the footings of the overpass, you'll see.

:)

Our country has been taken over by electronic bandits and they're looking for a man who
must be dead, and his killers are also probably dead or in nursing homes. Can any one

19. He is one of a few well-known missing persons cases.
From a historical perspective, plenty of people would love to know the answer to the question of what happened to him.

I'm sure the FBI is capable of doing more than one thing at a time.
