The dems did it again.

Another horrible appointment. (Hayden to head CIA).

I am getting fed up to high heaven with them. Only 15 voted against his appointment.

They went along with ALL the lower court appointees.

Most went along with Robertson. Alito got SOME protest ONLY after we screamed and shouted at the top of our lungs, and still they didn't filibuster.

We have only a handful of true reps.

1. They do a fine job of representing the corporations that purchased them
maybe once the google ads kick in, DU could do a regular fundraiser so we could purchase our own Congresscritters.

18. I think they need suits and Congressional chairs emblazoned like the
NASCAR guys do - plaster those logos all over them so we know exactly who they represent without having to go look it up all the time.

Look at all the free air-time on C-Span:

Will the Senator from General Electric please yeild 5 minutes to the Distinguished Senator from Halliburton?

6. The DEM Party needs a better FILTER...a new set of RULES
for Dem Candidates to embrace....

We have a weakness...still better than the PUBs but if we are to prevail...we need better Leaders... and there is no Training, no Schooling in that regard.

We let anyone run under our name...that is the Problem...

10. It's why my DINO senator has lost my vote.
I will not participate in some numbers game when it means sending a guy who's been stabbing me in the back for 6 years to another 6 year term to stab me in the back some more.

My vote is my own. Nobody else controls it. He has lost it.

Eventually more people on both sides will realize that incumbents are the problem and voting them out often enough is the solution. Once they get those beltway blinders on, they become useless to everyone but themselves.

13. Who would you like to see head the CIA?
It's going to be one spook or another. Keep focused on the really bad ones. He's at least competent, and there isn't anyone else out there that you would be happy with.

This is like complaining that a general has been named chairman of the joint chiefs of staff.

Edited on Fri May-26-06 02:48 PM by tjwash
And YES, I am being facetious

She is also a fucking war hawk of the worst kind. She's the California version of Joe Lieberman, and sometimes I wish she would just switch parties so that Dems would stop voting for her.

She's also married to one of the biggest defense contractors in the country, and tries to say that it does not influence how she votes. :eyes:

15. They Are Being Blackmailed
The NSA has been monitoring them 24x7 for 6 years now.
They are sure to have got something on some of them,
and they can cut-and-paste something convincing on the others.

17. Blackmail is speculation...
...but the bribery is fact. No one gets to the Senate without having been trained from political infancy to whore for campaign contributions. They will therefore confirm other corporatists.

16. I'll keep posting this little tidbit until someone notices...
<snippage>

The real reason for the takeover of the CIA? So that the Bush people can get their hands on the heavily guarded CIA archives out at Anacostia at Bolling AFB. Cheney has said that if his people (read Cambone/Rumsfeld) could get their hands on these precious files, none of the early ones having been computerized, they could blackmail their enemies both foreign and domestic. There is, a Pentagon source told me yesterday, enough hitherto unknown and secret material in the early CIA archives to literally destroy governments and people around the world. Cambone would have control over these archives and God help anyone who has information on them that can be found in the files that would dare to stand in the way of the Bush-Rove-Cheney and Rumsfeld Imperium!

There is also the question of the old Hoover FBI private files and their massive amount of material on Congressmen and other Beltway luminaries. Rove has been able to mute the Democratic opposition (ever wonder why the Demos have been so quiet lately?) by getting access to some of the FBI material and threatening his enemies with exposure.
