Hasbro Halts Plans for Dolls Based on Pussycat Dolls
Hasbro Halts Plans for Dolls Based on Pussycat Dolls
Thursday, May 25, 2006

PAWTUCKET, R.I. — Hasbro Inc. shelved plans Wednesday to release a line of dolls based on the Pussycat Dolls, an all-female music group known for risque lyrics and skimpy outfits.

Hasbro, the nation's second biggest toy maker, said it decided the dolls were "inappropriate" for the company to market and that the pop group catered to a more mature audience.

2. I'm not a praying man...
But tonight I'll light a candle hoping those no-talent wenches never make another album.

4. Probably because of the name.
I think marketers and merchants are running a little "safer" now...avoiding the P word?
Just throwin' it out there

5. No, because of the sleaze factor. Call me old-fashioned, but I think
that actual TALENT ought to be a factor, and that T&A is not a good idea to base dolls for little girls upon.

8. I had the misfortune of catching their act on some tv show or other . . .
and the lack of talent there is stunning . . . they make phoney "boy bands" look like choral groups . . .
