Got this from my RW associate regarding Casey Sheehan

Just to clarify, the only thing the RW can do is personal attacks. They do NOT want to talk about the diaster they have gotten us into.

How a Mother grieves is nobodys business but hers

1. And his/her point was?
Was he/she insinuating that the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq on a pack of lies is now vindicated because of this?

Not attacking you, just trying to understand what point he/she was trying to make!

4. his point was that it was more important to protest the war
rather then get a headstone for her son. What he sent me was an even more biased account of it, so I went to snoopes

I did bring up the deaths and destruction being done in our name to a country that had NOTHING to do with 9/11

I just find it amazing that they resort to personal attacks on people, instead of discussing the real issue...

"resort to personal attacks on people, instead of discussing the real issue."

This is the Republican Way. It has always been thus. It's their M.O. -- Distract attention elsewhere besides the real issue, redirect it to the messenger instead of the message. Obfuscate.

It's what they DO. That elephant only knows one trick.

15. OK, I understand. I suspected as much, but wanted to make sure.

Ironic thing is (not speaking for Cindy Sheehan, just myself), it is more important to protest the war than buy a piece of rock. Ending this monumental travesty is the best possible memorial for Casey Sheehan and the hundreds of thousands of other people killed and maimed in it.

You might tell your associate that he has all the makings of enlightenment in his fogged skull. Maybe with a little more work, he can get his head out of his ass and his brain to a higher level. I doubt he's capable of it, but I try to stay optimistic in spite of it all.

ON EDIT: spelling like a Freeper tonight...

23. I don't envy you having to have anything to do with him
Someday, though, unless he's so far gone he can't come back to sanity, he'll realize he was on the wrong side of history and truth.

19. That what I was thinking
Perhaps she wants to keep that private .

I don't blame her for making that choice .

I might make the same god forbid I were ever
to walk in her shoes .

Freepers need to listen to Their Bible
not their Preachers.

3. Can we please put an end to this? Especially here.
Cindy has expressed her wishes. She doesn't want her son's resting place to be a place for protest.

6. I brought it up because it was brought up to me
instead of discussing the immorality of the war, this was thrown at me

Why did I bring it up?

Because if someone else against the war encounters this "attack" they are prepared to respond rather then being off-guard. It is as simple as that

14. Buddy, I hear ya'.
I'm saddened that this memo is still floating around. Cindy is used to deflect from what the ultimate truth is, which you brought up: the immorality of this war. Stick to that point and don't waver, my friend.

5. And your response to the Rwinger should be the following...
It's none of your Fucking business how this grieving mother adorns her son's grave...that is her business....when she is ready...she will do what needs to be done....tell him you hope it never comes to pass that he has to bury one of his children before he leaves this earth...but how will he feel when he places his child in the ground....how will he feel when people criticize the headstone or lack of headstone....He will respond it' none of their fucking business...

Rant off....these people have no empathy.....

18. Thank you! Or, tell the wingnut busybody:
"Until YOU, Mr. Wingnut E-mailer, have a child who was killed in one of Junior's fraudulent wars, you have no right to dictate what such a parent should do about their child's grave. Until YOU have sacrificed one of YOUR children to Junior's criminal activities, SHUT THE FUCK UP!!! And furthermore, Mr. Wingnut E-mailer, since you so love GWB's fraudulent wars, GET YOUR ASS OVER TO IRAQ NOW AND FIGHT, OR STFU!!!"

8. this is a personal matter
Edited on Fri May-26-06 10:29 PM by stellanoir
Many of those bereft of their young ones take a while to put a marker on their grave. It's simply too painful.

My aunt and uncle lost a three year old daughter. She choked on a carrot. She was operated on a month later and the surgeon told them to go out and celebrate shortly thereafter.

When they came back to the hospital the little girl was gone.

The carrot had splintered and the surgeon had failed to extricate all of it. They never sued. It wasn't their style.

They didn't put a marker on her grave for about a decade. It was just too damned hard and painful. They ended up divorcing after having two more kids both boys.

We've no right to judge Cindy on this matter. She is probably concerned about it's desecration as well as her aching omnipresent grief.

It is personal. IMHO
