A note about the NYT Swift liars article and RW blogs
IMO, the NYT article should have presented the facts about Kerry's service instead of the Swift liar vs. Kerry. The photos add to the record.

Having said that, heads are exploding on RW blogs: it's a cross between trying to paint the report as hilarious to one of the key slime balls, Benard Kessler, posting on his blog a 30 question and answer session with himself:

3. Did Kerry want to be in combat?

The Swift Boats were an offshore patrol unit at the time Kerry volunteered for it.

They are beside themselves, how dare Kerry try point to them as liars!

1. About time some truth floated to top of their dung pile.
The right wing lives in such a delusional state, I'm not sure if they would recognize the truth if came up and bit them in the butt.

2. Another testimony to add

Although I think the guy was kind of slimy not to come out before the election. But anyway, Jerry Leeds' story, after he had helped Rood write his - that was released on Aug 22 - and should have put an end to the attack right then and there.

"Leeds says he decided to help Rood after being upset with what O'Neill had said on MSNBC's "Scarborough Country" in August about that February day. He was so angry about O'Neill's allegations that Leeds called O'Neill and discussed what happened on the mission. Rood, too, had been unhappy with O'Neill's interview and wanted to set the record straight."

3. Amazing the amount
of leverage given to lies. The parameter for what true isn't how many people believe it, it's did it really happen. That Bush lied about Iraq isn't true now because more people believe it. It was true that Bush lied when the polls showed nearly 80% of the country supporting the war!
