Do you ever feel bad for the wingnuts?
Do you ever think it’s not their fault they’ve been misled on basic facts, and shouldn’t be blamed?

Do you ever think we shouldn’t make fun of people for being illiterate and challenged by spelling (“Get a brain, morans!”)?

Do you ever think that when Ann Coulter says liberals should be killed, we should feel less outrage, and instead feel sorry for her embittered soul?

Do you ever think that when wingnuts claim we hate America, hate the troops, and give “aid and comfort to the enemy,” we should accept their blindness with stoicism and rise above our anger?

Do you ever think that it’s wrong for us to be angry at, make fun of, and otherwise malign and ridicule rightwing conservative fundifascist hatemongers – just because they’re rightwing conservative fundifascist hatemongers – and instead should quietly reach out to them in forgiveness and brotherhood?

Me neither.

shriveled, blighted souls.

But I don't. My bad.

3. I hope to, one day, as their dreams crash around them and they struggle
for basic survival and purpose in life after the realization of the complete deceit job that was done on them and the rest of America becomes clear. What goes around needs to come around....

However, it won't. People who ardently supported Nixon eons ago now claim they never voted for the bum!

4. Thin the herd, that's the only solution
We have to enrich the skill mix in the electorate.

It was their choice, let them suffer the consequences.

Then we can move on.

6. Sorry, but I can't help saying that's just about the dumbest question.....
......I've ever seen asked on DU.:banghead: If anyone here felt sorry for the neocons/fundies we'd be over at FR defending the damned idiots.:eyes: Considering that the majority of people here get physically sick at the mention of neocons/fundies - or at least I do - and go so far as to donate to DU I'd say it's a pretty fair bet no one here feels a bit sorry for them.

They've asked for what they get and I for one hope they get their just dues in :toast: quadruple amounts too. :bounce:

7. It depends on how far in they are
Ann Coulter and people who believe what she thinks about liberals are clearly our enemies. They are clearly badguys.

On the other hand, there are lots of peopel who have supported Bush who have even bought into the idea that liberals cna't be trusted who we are going to have to reach out to.

33. It bothers me that
wingers and their Uber-Winger (GWB) seem to be both stupid and proud that they are stupid. They despise anyone with a better grasp of reality, let alone anyone who can reason. From the moment I first heard GWB's patented 'heh-heh-heh', I knew he was of the same ilk as those overgrown dunces who push more intelligent children into lockers and trip them in the halls. He's a thug and a bully and he's made bullying into our national policy. There's always going to be a few fools who follow that kind of 'strength', usually to make up for something lacking in themselves. It's really getting to the point, for me, where if I find out someone is still a follower of this git, I don't want anything to do with them. I don't want to be around that kind of person anymore. Republicans: The few, the proud, the stupid.

Most DUers are very literate, as opposed to a lot of the creatures that populate the "other" site.

and wanting the country run to reflect their moral idealism. They got what they deserve. Feel sorry for them for what? Its their stupidity thats at the heart of matters, I got mine screw everyone except me. After all is said and done when things get better they will turn around and do the same stupid shit all over. All you need to do is look back on how long it took them to vote pukes in after Nixon and Ford. Feel sorry for them for what, they weren't doped into a damn thing, they lead the way into this mess.

16. As a high school student
At times I have felt bad for those who believe everything their parents say. The adults in their house made strong impressions on them as kids and it obviously carried with them. But then I remind myself that this nuts are brainwashed and are some of the most close-minded people ever. Then part of me feels bad that this is the way they will live their lives. And then I look at the death toll of the war they support and then I don't feel bad for them at all because it is all too clear to everybody but them.

17. It depends
If it is someone who I know comes from a wing-nut area, with little resources outside, and a limited education, I can understand how they just go along with the crowd, so to speak.

Anyone with a decent education, or even a little common sense with the desire and ability to access a public library who still believes in the shrub - nope, I have no compassion for them, and will rip them a new one when I get the chance.

I truly believe that education is the key to everything - knowledge is power.

Hence, my bumper magnet "If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention".

18. Nah
Well..on second thought. Some things, like political common sense, are related to intelligence. I think there are three kinds of Republicans: 1) Old folks who have voted Repub forever and just can't change; 2) Stupid folks who don't know any better; 3) Mean people who are out for themselves only.

I don't hold 1 and 2 personally accountable. 3's need to GO DOWN.

Which gets them to smell weakness, which gets them to move to the right. They have succeeded in the last 30 years.

Their woe is me martrydom over PC is one. They have been allowed to play the victim too long.

When people say things like "I feel safer under martial law" or "the government can search me any time they like because I have nothing to hide" I feel then it is fine to take the gloves off and tell them just how stupid they are being. And they usually go off whimpering about how they are being poorly treated right then and there.
