Conservatives believe ...
... in free speech, in the sense that it means listening in to your phonecalls.

... in the freedom of the press, which is why the courageous President rarely ever talks to them.

... in freedom of assembly, which is why the brave President only speaks to hand-picked audiences and the RW blogosphere churns out death threats to anyone who heckles (see also "'free' speech"), and why "free speech zones" are required at public events - a hilarious concept, because they suggest that the rest of the continental US beyond that tiny little fenced-in scrap is not a "free speech" zone.

... in rugged self-reliance, which is why they're still bitching that France and Russia didn't help out their mad colonial adventure in Iraq, and why they bitched about "I don't see Indonesia sending us aid" when the tsunami hit.

... in standing by its allies. Which is why George doesn't listen to a word Tony says, and expresses open contempt for most of the other powers in the world.

... in deregulation. Apart from at the Mexican border. And on planes. And in airports. And in foreign countries. And in "free speech zones". And when it's recording your phonecalls. And when it's in the bedroom, they love to regulate there. And when it's writing discrimination into the Constitution, that's OK regulation. And putting rules about handling a piece of cloth into the Constitution, that's "good" regulation. In fact that whole Constitution thing is a bit cumbersome deregulation-wise, the best way to deregulate would be to organise things for 21st century America would be to abandon the whole C-thing and govern from a set of contradictory instructions drawn up more than 2000 years ago by a bunch of Middle Eastern peasants.

... in bringing democracy to foreign countries. Unless that democracy comes up with a government the State Department doesn't like. One man, one vote. And that man is Condoleezza Rice.

... in private enterprise, which is why they hate Citgo and al-Jazeera. (See also "free speech" and "deregulation".)

... in free markets, which is why they don't care if an American company moves operations abroad and sacks scores of Americans, but they complain like children if other countries start selling steel cheaper than them, and impose tariffs.

... in public propiety, which is why they love an alcoholic cokehead (untreated).

... in excellence in broadcasting. Oxycontin. Falafel. Loofah.

... that the left is "hate-filled", which is while they'll drool over this post as evidence of intense hatred with robust criticism such as "fucking DUmmy retards", which isn't hate-filled, you see?

Add your own. If you want. It's a free country, at time of writing.

Are you posting this from a "free speech zone?"

3. Does the United Kingdom count?
It's a bit of a borderline case.

5. That Great Britian owes us something.
They forget this country started out as a British colony.
