Bush "DIS"-Honors War Dead at Arlington while freaks and assholes freak out,

Approximately 10 people from the Washington, D.C., chapter of FreeRepublic.com, a self-styled grass roots conservative group, held signs at the entrance of the cemetery supporting U.S. troops. A large sign held by several people said, "God bless our troops, defenders of freedom, American heroes."

They were faced off against a handful of anti-gay protesters who stood across a four-lane highway as people headed toward the national burial grounds.

The FreeRepublic.com group was trying to counter demonstrations by the Kansas-based group, led by the Rev. Fred Phelps. He previously had organized protests against those who died of AIDS and gay murder victim Matthew Shepard.

--------------

Meanwhile W uttered such obscenities as:

"We have seen the costs in the war on terror that we fight today."

"I am in awe of the men and women who sacrifice for the freedom of the United States of America,"

Bush said the nation can best honor the dead by "defeating the terrorists. ... and by laying the foundation for a generation of peace."

1. Two (small) groups of assholes against each other?
Is the Country ready for this? I mean, after all, these are the fools who helped bush get selected, er, elected, er...ah never mind. Maybe the police should just lock the whole lot of them up and they can beat the daylights out of each other in a colossal cage match. I'd pay to see that.

3. I'm willing to give them credit for a good act.
No, I don't agree with them on most things, but I'm actually suprised to see them "countering" this hate group.

8. Agreed!
I'll give credit where credit is due. Phelps and his clan of scum are the lowest of the low and it's about time folks stood up to those hateful thugs.

11. It's not a "good act", it's a confused and contradictory act. No cred due.
The thing is, they aren't protesting because they DISAGREE
with Fred and the PhelpsBots.
You better believe that they share his
views on most things.

No, they are protesting Fred in an attempt
to DISTANCE themselves from him.
He attracts embarrassing attention to their beliefs.

Fred is the PUBLIC face of homophobia,
and all the other homophobes fear that publicity.

Ignorance and hatred need DARKNESS to thrive, y'know.
The hatefully ignorant Freepers dislike Fred's
habit of attracting LIGHT...and cameras.

No one wanted to do anything when phelps was protesting funerals of aids victims. It wasn't until the media agreed to ignore phelps and he turned his sights on the soldiers. NOW THEY WANNA DO SOMETHING! MAKE IT ILLEGAL TO PROTEST SOLDIERS!! Fuck YOU, BUSH!!! and FUCK FREE REPUBLIC!!! and FUCK ANYONE THAT APPLAUDS THE BAN ON PROTESTING SOLDIERS!! The BAN should make you sick!!! CHOKE ON IT!!

9. How, pray tell, Mr. Bush, do you intend to "defeat" the terrorists?
By forceful rhetoric? By bombing Iraq (and Iran) into the stone age?

Let's hear the plan, boss man...
