Imus comments on Hillary Clinton: "that buck-toothed witch, Satan,"
http://mediamatters.org/items/200605250001

Summary: On Imus in the Morning, Don Imus referred to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton as "Satan" 11 times, once calling her "that buck-tooth witch, Satan." He also called Al Gore "the phoniest bastard on the planet," adding that Gore is "a horrid human being."

On the May 24 edition of MSNBC's Imus in the Morning, host Don Imus referred to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) as "Satan" 11 times, once calling her "that buck-tooted witch, Satan."

During an interview with NBC News chief foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell, Imus even claimed that Clinton was "worse than" Osama bin Laden, but then partially retracted his statement, saying: "Well, that's a little strong." During the same interview, Imus called former Vice President Al Gore "the phoniest bastard on the planet," adding that Gore is "a horrid human being."

Imus has repeatedly and unapologetically referred to Clinton as "Satan," most recently during the May 22, 23, and 24 editions of his radio program. During a conversation with co-host Charles McCord and executive producer Bernard McGuirk on May 22, Imus admitted that he "wouldn't have a job based on stuff" he had said in the past, adding that, however, he had never had to apologize for insulting former President Bill Clinton and his "fat ugly wife, Satan."

3. I think there's a big difference.
There's a big difference between calling her "all hot air and no substance" and calling her "that buck-tooth witch, Satan." The first is an opinion regarding her political depth and sincerity that reasonable people could disagree on. The second is just a childish and idiotic mixed metaphor.

5. Oops...
Yeah, what you meant should have been obvious to me. I shouldn't be on here this time of the morning - haven't even had my coffee yet. I apologize for misunderstanding you.

6. Neocons in the Democratic Party
http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-op-heilbrunn28may28,0,6411415.story?coll=la-home-commentary

By Jacob Heilbrunn, Jacob Heilbrunn, a former Times editorial writer, is writing a book on neoconservatism.
May 28, 2006

DON'T LOOK now, but neoconservatism is making a comeback — and not among the Republicans who have made it famous but in the Democratic Party.

A host of pundits and young national security experts associated with the party are calling for a return to the Cold War precepts of President Truman to wage a war against terror that New Republic Editor Peter Beinart, in the title of his provocative new book, calls "The Good Fight."

...

Where will all this lead? To an internecine Democratic war, of course. Just as Republicans are being riven by debates between realists and Bush administration idealists, so the Democratic Party is about to witness its own battle.

Just as the old neocons wanted to expel the McGovernites, so the new ones want to rid the party of the Moveon.org types and move it to the right. As Beinart puts it, "whatever its failings, the right at least knows that America's enemies need to be fought."

9. The drugs and booze have rotted his mind........
why he is still a 'radio personality' is beyond me. His diseased mind isn't capable of rational thought anymore so all we hear from him is his constant ramblings about who is evil, stupid etc. What we're getting is a bit of self projection from himself to others.....he sees in others what he sees in himself. The mind of Don Imus was baked many, many years ago and has never recovered. MSNBC would do well to give the senile, diseased asshole his walking papers so he can retire to his 'ranch'. Then we'd see how long his 'charity' (that also makes him a bundle in merchandise etc.) would last. If he wasn't allowed to self promote while doing it he'd cut the purse strings in a nanosecond. Imus isn't worth the air he breathes. :grr:

10. Hate speech disguised as "humor"
His schtick is sol old and lame. I can't even believe that I used to be a regular listener of Imus and enjoyed him - but that was long ago. He is an uninformed, misinformed, misogynist. He is surrounded by like-minded nincompoops like Bernard McGuirk who recently referred to Hillary Clinton as "a tuna-licking t*&t"! (No, I am NOT making that up - I almost drove off the road when I heard it.) I now begin to question why anyone with any credibility appears on his show any longer. He used to be on my local radio talk channel but has disappeared - I don't miss him at all.

12. Imus appears to have a problem with intelligent women. If he wishes
to vote for somebody else in the presidential primary in 08, I doubt if anyone is trying to stop him.

Meanwhile, Senator Clinton as elected by constituent voters to represent them in the Senate. She's won a strong approval rating from them, even from many upstate voters, and is likely to coast to victory in November.

That should make Don Imus REALLY furious. Democracy. It's just an outrageous system.
