The 2008 attacks on Gore have begun.

A cheap shot here, a snide remark there, but no all out assault yet.

Occasionally, some radio/TV/columnist wingnut will take what seems like an unnecessary, shot at Gore. "Earth tones," "Boring," "Insane speech," "Environmentalist nut movie," and references to the other 10 tons of crap they threw at him the last time he ran.

I've also heard shots at Hillary, but for the moment, Gore seems to be their main target. It could make one believe they're more afraid of him than of her. After all, he won the presidency in 2000.

What I'm getting at here is that, this time, we must fight back early, pointedly, smartly, and aggressively. They've been spitting on us ever since Saint Ronnie began the destruction of our country and they haven't let up since.

This won't work as a bumper sticker, but my attitude is, "No more Mr. Nice Guy." It's time we kicked these people squarely in the teeth at every possible opportunity. They own the MSM, but we can fight back using the web, Air America Radio (among others), and a few congresspeople with mouths big enough to make Newt Gingrich look laid back. The one thing we can't do is sit still and take it. We must start treating these people like the vermin they are.

They always have and I think they always will. Comparitively, Kerry got off relitively lightly.

They love McCain, however.

to try to somehow prove that Gore is a liar. Anyone who knows the truth knows which one's are the liars, and--for those who don't already know--it's not Gore.

It's like... what? Well, if I said to you: "I worked to help those who invented velcro to market their invention..." (assuming I actually had done so), but the media took what I said...

"I worked to help those who invented velcro to market their invention..."

and modified it thusly...

"I worked to help those who invented velcro to market their invention..."

Then "quoted" me as having said:

"I invented velcro..."

Then created a media firestorm, ridiculing me for thinking I had invented velcro--accusing me of lying and having delusions of importance.

Then, even after having it pointed out to them that they've reported a false, adulterated version of what I said... they continue with their repetitive, ratings enhancing riducule parties. Very few ever retracted anything they said and then did so only in a limited way.

Worse, they did this to him several times on several different issues. They blatantly, intentionally lied and engaged in "media assisination" (what Republicans would term the "Politics of Personal Destruction" (but only if engaged in by Democrats)).

We MUST find a way to make the biggest stink ever whenever they do this again... and they will... do this again. Never "take it" again. Resistance is not futile (if we never stop)!

Too few companies owning too much media and how it needs to be regulated. You know they don't want to see him become president - it would be a corporate media nightmare.
Also, it's quite clear that "Ozoneman" Gore was quite right about global warming. Admitting that would be admitting their own failure, which members of the media are pathologically unable to do.

I don't think they really want McCain any more than progressives want Hillary, but they want us to spend our resources gearing up against their false target while their real candidate will stay under the radar until the last minute.

With the Times front page story on Bill and Hilary fresh on people's minds, it was the pundit talking point for several days. The right is getting a very early start for the upcoming presidential elections...

... (now reported as being started by McCain himself) I heard a Republican pundit say that McCain was the only American POW ever to gain weight while imprisoned. We should have been cataloging clips. I hope someone was.

Go after the media directly. Discredit them and watch everything fall apart.

We need to move perception to the point where if the media says "Gore is a liar" we say "Why the fuck should we believe you?"
