Question about Iran economics and possible draft?
Okay can we even afford another war given our current state and can we wage another war without the draft reeinstated? I say all the Bush supporters should be the first to enlist thier blood and treasure first.

1. Estimate this week was that Iraq is going cost 2 Trillion dollars.

We will need to borrow a big load of money from China to go to war with Iran and with the oil contract just finalized between China and Iran;China is not going to be happy with us.

Another thing to consider, I just finished a book talking about the military in the mid-east, Iran has something like 2 million soldiers. That is more than we can field without a draft....

2. If bush supporters were honest and sincere humans
there would be no shortage of Soldiers to fight (their) wars. But as they have proven for five years now, they are anything but honest and sincere. They are not patriotic. They do not support our troops in Iraq. They care of nothing but the destruction of our constitution. Its really quite simple. Do not expect to see an outpouring of bush supporters at Army recruiting stations when the Iran war begins. Rather we will be greeted with more "support the troops" magnet ribbons and bumper stickers. Conservatives are the number one domestic enemy of the constitution in America today. There is no contest for the number two position on the list.

3. about Iran....
I honestly don't think that we will take military action against them, at least for the next 2-3 years. We simply don't have the personnel. If there were a draft, there would be rioting in the streets of the US. If they sent in a limited number of troops they would get slaughtered. China would stop buying dollars and ruin the US economy overnight. This country would be in sheer anarchy. The Iraq war hurt our country badly (and still is), a war with Iran would destroy it - Washington would burn.

4. Two words re Iran: air strikes
As to draft, you are right, riots in the street. So, perhaps the destruction of the US economy and any futures young people might hope to fine in the private sector (what a laugh THAT is) is gonna turn into olive drab.

No need to draft if joining military voluntarily is the only way to get fed.

5. The draft will work if we are scart enough
Really really scart. I think they are going to scare
us at just the right moment.
Then they will stir up our national pride and desire for revenge.
They would not have spent so much time
and energy setting up the invasion of Iran if they hadn't already
decided to invade Iran.

6. Good point, I've been thinking that!
besides, don't need a large standing army if you use nukes. Damn I hate to even think that using nukes would be possible, i'm getting depressed again.
