Oh my. There was a car accident in which several people died.
In the car, there were two young women who looked alike.
One family was informed that their daughter had died, the other family was told that their daughter was in a coma. Well, it turns out that the one in the coma was the one that had been reported as dead to her family, and the family that thought their daughter was alive was informed that their daughter had indeed died in the accident. This was after several weeks.

1. This'll take care of Fix's news cycle for weeks...
as the two in question are pretty blonde women.

3. I have a hard time with this
how could you not recognize your own child? I realize she was probably bunged up good from the wreck, but how can a parent not recognize even the smallest details, like the shape of a child's fingernails or birthmarks or moles or shape of the ear (all ears are different.. the shape of her feet..etc. Maybe wishful thinking caused them to not notice such details.

Sad all around. Maybe the girl that is alive will have bonded a bit with the other parents and they can remain close, I can see nothing else good that can come out of this.

4. Believe me...
It can happen. With severe accidents you can have swelling, bruising, equipment that cannot be moved, etc. I saw the photos of both girls and unless they had identifing scars or marks...it really can happen innocently enough. But how sad for the family of the girl that did die.
