1. Naw,
the rightwing wind bags will just double the amount of lies it tells about AAR.

3. And the fact that they are doing this with so few stations makes it all
the more incredible!

4. Got a link?
It would be helpful to a long-running argument about Air America on a board that has liberals and conservatives.

6. I don't have a link...

Randi and Al mentioned it and I doubt they're lying.

7. Franken vs. Limbaugh in Montana
Franken was in Montana today. If I heard him right, he said he was beating Limbaugh in Montana.

It's fantastic to beat them in NY, which is the country's largest market. When we're beating them in "red states," too, that's saying something.

:woohoo:

10. If I remember correctly,
you have to buy the ratings. I believe the media folks are the ones who buy them, and I think they're too expensive for most folks. I could be wrong, but that's what I remember hearing.

12. Oh, I understand now - there really isn't
a link. The posts are discussing what Al Franken and Randi Rhodes said on their radio programs. Randi might put information up on her web site later. www.therandirhodesshow.com

13. I had a really frustrating day with the local AAR affiliate here in
Edited on Fri Jan-13-06 06:52 PM by Cleita
my county. First Franken kept going off the air and then I would hear the screechy dial up sound that us dialupers have to use to access the internet intermittently between the blackouts. What were they doing trying to stream his show with dialup and putting it on the air?

I'm now trying to listen to the rest of Randi's show with so much static and interference that I can barely understand what is being said. If they don't fix these problems with their local affiliates, I'm afraid they are going to lose listeners. Many of us are driving around or working in places with no computer access and can't stream from the internet.

14. My affiliate sucks
Hi, Cleita!

KQKE in SF. They have their own morning show with Will Durst and Willie Brown, which is okay. It throws the whole schedule out of whack, though, so you can't listen to any of the AAR folks live. If you want to call in, you have to stream. Then, on the weekends, they play nothing but infomercials until late in the afternoon. They're utterly abominable, and I wish AAR would pull up and find another affiliate.

15. Well, last week I was complaining about bleed through
on WLIB during the Randi and later shows. Last week, I was complaining that it was being taken over by an oldies music station, making it very difficult to hear those later shows. Well, this week, it appears that WOWO, the right wing station out of Boston is not totally masking WLIB during that time. I never heard WOWO at those locations on the dial. How, all of a sudden, does their signal bleed over now?

AAR MUST get a stronger signal. Places where I used to be able to get the signal very clearly are now crapped out.

They need a stronger signal damnit!

16. I'm north of Boston and can't get AM 1430 or 1200 after 6 PM
it fades in and out on my commute home. I hate that Boston's Air America affiliate has Randi on a delay. If she had the 3-7 drivetime, I'm sure she'd blow the RW wind bags away in the ratings.

18. I totally agree!
Try 1190. They have Randi without the delay. That's WLIB. You might get a better signal where you are than I do. By 6, I can't get her at all anymore. I really freaked Friday when WOWO bled over them. but, isn't it funny how by 11, you can get Mike Malloy like he's in the next room? I am beginning to think they just don't want us to hear Randi and Sam.

17. I thought WOWO was out of Indiana?
but, I get a lot of WOWO when listening to WLIB in the Hartford, CT area. I can't even get 1190 if I'm not on a major highway up here.

21. You may be right. It may be out of Indiana
Edited on Sun Jan-15-06 12:00 PM by Sydnie
I haven't listened to it that much but I thought WOWO was out of Boston. Maybe they just syndicate some of the shows and I have heard them on a Boston station when driving through the city?

I could take it to some extent when they were being overrun by the oldies music station. The WOWO issue just started last week for me. 1200 (Boston Progressive station) gets overrun by a sports station from Ottawa now. That just started in the last 3 months for me too.

22. Unfortunately, AAR has a lot of weak signals
I get WLIB in better than I do the AAR station in New Haven, CT. I think that's like a 1000 watt station, which means I think I can spit farther than their signal can reach... and, New Haven is only 30-35 minutes south of Hartford.
