Fire stops showing of An Inconvenient Truth ... Coolidge Theatre

I had just finished seeing the early showing (be sure and see it) when I saw a group of people outside and fire trucks (five of them) started arriving. There was smoke in the basement and the two screenings of the film had to be cancelled.
Many in the croud suspected sabotage. So do I. Tin foil is the order of the day..:tinfoilhat:
Fortunately, noone was hurt, but this will put a dent in opening weekend stats. Now, who would that help?

6. It is at the Coolidge, Harvard Square and The Empire in Waltham.
I highly reccommend it. The Coolidge should be open tomorrow, but call first.

4. That theater is the one I spent most of my youth in
Coolidge Corner was practically my home for many years. I miss it. It is an old theater, but I agree that someone might have done something deliberate to stop the movie from being shown. However, Brookline is one of the most progressive and liberal towns in the country, and I doubt if too many locals would have done it. But then again, I've been away for a long time.

Just when it was poised to knock X-Men: Last Stand out of first place! :)

I do not think that this movie is a threat to anyone yet. Not on enough screens yet. Mostly it's built in audience is going to see it first. Films like this don't catch their stride until they have been out for a few weeks and word of mouth builds.

Once it catches on...
