Rove reminisces: the good times we stole Florida in 2004!
Edited on Sat Jun-03-06 08:25 AM by robbedvoter
From an article posted in LBN - but with a deceptive title - the most important part is hidden at the end:

http://sptimes.com/2006/06/03/State/Rove_harsh_on_critics.shtml
"He recalled his sophisticated computer program to track returns on election night 2004 that contradicted exit polls showing Bush losing in Florida.
"I'll never forget. The first county I clicked was Hernando. Then Pasco. And about that time, Jeb called in," Rove recalled. "I started working my way down the east coast and he said, 'Start with Broward.' ... It was clear, we were running well ahead of where we needed to run, and Jeb said, 'We're going to win, and we're going to win big.' ""
I wonder, did he thank Bevie for making Florida steal a non-subject?

1. Not reminiscing, giving marching orders for the next one
Seems to me he's plotting the new "results".

2. The "program" contradicted the polls, not the actual votes...
That's the way I read it.

3. Pasco county results 2004 and 2000
Kerry - 84,749
bush - 103,320

ES&S voting machines

=================

2000

Gore - 69,564
bush - 68,582

Punch card ballots

====================

Gore carried Pasco county in 2000
Kerry lost Pasco in 2004 by 30,000 votes, according to the paperless electronic voting machines.

Now wonder Rove took a look at Pasco first, he knew what was happening there.

Numbers from MCM - "Fooled Again" page 329 footnote #68

4. What was written after election night:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3987237.stm

Early exit polls quoted by media seemed to give Mr Kerry the edge, but colleagues said Mr Rove indicated right away that they did not tally with his information.

He used his own data to put Ohio and Florida in the Bush column - bringing cheers from the president and his family when he went into the Roosevelt Room and told them

6. A quote from Rove
"If America cuts and runs in Iraq, who's going to tell the families that their loss was in vain?"

May I suggest HE do it, and he can bring Bush, Rumsfled and Cheney, as well as all complicit representatives and generals with him to tell the parents their loss was in vain.

8. Rove on election night is burned into my memory -
Does anyone remember that corporate news was given "exclusive" access to WH room where repugs were watching the returns? Rove was there, looking very much at ease. In fact the entire mood of the place didn't jive with the exit poll results. They should have all been nervous as hell.

Anyway, when Rove was asked, on camera, how he felt, he smiled and stated he knew Bush was going to win (or something to that effect). I knew in that instant that the fix was in.
