2. What bothers me most is America has been "irreparably changed forever"...
....and that this country allowed it to happen with open arms.

3. The later
That is, the damage done. However, I don't feel it to be irreparablydamaged.
Look, it always takes a democrat to do the heavy lifting and clean up after these greedheads.
We're gonna need a dem that answers the call to greatness, somebody like an FDR who looks beyond personal gain.

As far as junior goes, he'll skate on recriminations, mommy and poppy will see to that, just as he always has in everything in his puny little existence.

His legacy as preznit however will be shit, worst ever.

5. I don't believe in Karma
I think bad things happen to good people for no reason. I think evil slime get away with their crimes far too often.

And I think it's always been that way since we learned to lick termites off sticks.

That being said, I also think that by luck, timing, and pure force of will we sometimes shine and the masses who are otherwise troden on for decades and centuries at a time get a break.

I pray for another such break for this country. My first wish is for the damage the Neocon's have done to this country and the world to be reversed.

Then my second wish...is not charitable.

6. Um...1960's--Vietnam? 1950's--Korea?
1898--Spanish-American War? Where we "liberated" the Philippines from the Spaniards and then refused to leave ourselves to the point where the "Philippine Insurgents" went to war with us in the same manner that the "Iraqi Insurgents" are? Then we ended up building several permanent naval ports there? Any of this sound familiar?

Hell, Go back through our entire history, and you will see the exact same war mongering empire spreading throughout our history that is happening right now.

The problem is not that we have changed forever. The problem is that that forever we have REFUSED to change, or evolve as a society. It's just that the guns and bombs have gotten more powerful over the years.

7. that America has been changed
and that it will be very difficult if not impossible to put it back the way it was.

As for Bush and his cohorts-they will meet a Judge and Justice soon enough-no one gets away "Scot Free".
