Life imprisonment being debated in Britian for soldiers refusing to go

to Iraq. I heard this on the CBC yesterday. It seems that there is an alarming increase in the number of deserters. The army is downplaying the number of deserters however when life imprisonment is even being considered as a punishment I got to think the problem is serious.

5. On the plus side

it established a base-line for the punishment to be administered to war-mongering, lying politicians who get the soldiers into the mess in the first place.
