The Canadian terror arrests are a VICTORY....(Canada Forum cross post)
Edited on Sat Jun-03-06 06:14 PM by Chimpys_Last_Stand
...and not proof - according to those who carry water for the American (or Canadian) right wing - that Canada simply swings the immigration door wide open, and lets those who wish to sew seeds of terrorist destruction here, to do so unchecked.

That is a crock of shit. Canadian law enforcement and intelligence agencies surveilled these terror suspects for two years, caught them, and fucked up their elaborate plans, before they had a chance to hurt anybody. I am so proud of C.S.I.S., the Mounties, the O.P.P. and the Durham Regional Police, it's hard to even put it into words.

God bless each and every person involved in stopping this sickening plot cold in it's tracks.
:applause:

1. Can't you hear bush now spouting how his wire tapping
and all that secret stuff he allows is the reason this was successful. That is how the U.S. media will frame it. Sorry Canada. (sarcasm)

2. OK, I don't blame Canada anymore
Edited on Sat Jun-03-06 06:00 PM by upi402
Sheila: Times have changed
Our kids are getting worse
They won't obey their parents
They just want to fart and curse!
Sharon: Should we blame the government?
Liane: Or blame society?
Dads: Or should we blame the images on TV?
Sheila: No, blame Canada
Everyone: Blame Canada
Sheila: With all their beady little eyes
And flapping heads so full of lies
Everyone: Blame Canada
Blame Canada
Sheila: We need to form a full assault
Everyone: It's Canada's fault!
Sharon: Don't blame me
For my son Stan
He saw the damn cartoon
And now he's off to join the Klan!
Liane: And my boy Eric once
Had my picture on his shelf
But now when I see him he tells me to fuck myself!
Sheila: Well, blame Canada
Everyone: Blame Canada
Sheila: It seems that everything's gone wrong
Since Canada came along
Everyone: Blame Canada
Blame Canada
Copy Guy: They're not even a real country anyway
Ms. McCormick: My son could've been a doctor or a lawyer rich and true,
Instead he burned up like a piggy on the barbecue
Everyone: Should we blame the matches?
Should we blame the fire?
Or the doctors who allowed him to expire?
Sheila: heck no!
Everyone: Blame Canada
Blame Canada
Sheila: With all their hockey hullabaloo
Liane: And that bitch Anne Murray too
Everyone: Blame Canada
Shame on Canada
For...
The smut we must stop
The trash we must bash
The Laughter and fun
Must all be undone
We must blame them and make a fuss
Before someone thinks of blaming uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuus!!!!

SABAZZ!

12. Sure we did. We had our own "little patriot act" and rights of
surveilllance increased. Though likely there were enough judges with enough hours in the day to sign off on warrants. But yeah.. we didn't have to give up on democracy to do it.

We just gave better tools to the people who need them.

11. Canadians do not have the same protections against searches.
Edited on Sat Jun-03-06 06:26 PM by MookieWilson
The RCMP doesn't need warrants like you have in the US.

So, the answer is 'no', Canadians have not lost their rights as we have.

9. Here, here!!! Very proud. Have not heard much about it but those
kids were home grown. And sociopaths like al Qaeda always pick the sick, angry, vulnerable youth to exploit and flip. The problem is the internet sites and the radical islamic mosques. Here is hoping these arressts lead to the closing down of certain webistes (or blocking) and the expultion of certain types of radical islam that teaches murder to all others.

We have to protect our children from predators out there. Especially when we know certain predators (religious al qaeda) have certain patterns.

Very proud day.

13. Agree in spades.
They were homegrown, Al Qaida "inspired" at the very least, and stopped cold. A very proud day indeed.
