In particular we stand shoulder to shoulder with ALL gays (even those who are closeted)

Today, (and until this bill dies) I'm GAY!! Then I go back to men. :)

How about a campaign in which those who support gays' rights to marry agree that, whenever they're in public with one or more friends or relatives of the same sex, they'll hold hands!

in some sections of the country... I still LIKE IT... I am not sure my Gay friends will want to go there though...

..but I'm sure as hell po'ed at how society treats gays. For God's sake, do Republicans have anything better to do with their lives? They get worked up over the same sexual acts heterosexuals perform, yet if two people of the same sex do it, it's suddenly dirty. Useless, nutzo freakjobs.

I'm actually Not-Pissed at how domestic MurKKKan society treats gays.
Politically, the GOP initiatives aren't mainstream, and they don't reflect society at large outside of a Dobson fund-raiser.
On every issue, Democrats out-poll Repigs.
On an anecdotal level, pretty much everyone I know knows someone who's gay, and everyone I know, be they on the Left or Right smells the recurrent stench of GOP desperation.
After reading an hour at RW blogs (none of which links I can post), they're just upset that all of their hopes and dreams of codifying bigotry-into-Law are for naught. A majority of the Kool-Aid drinkers have even been able to be-stir their addled synapses and realize their failed President is pandering again to anyone who will take a sip...
Society doesn't Hate Gays. Society Hates people that Hate on Gays. Society rightly hates the fascists in their midst...
If Bush* was a media guy, he could say he's hated on the Left and the Right, so he's probably where he should be.

this is part of the same continuum. And trust me, as a medic I treated a couple... lets just say they were plleasantly surprised that I did not care until we reached the official paperwork phase, but I cuold not avoid it there

I tend to make sarcastic comments about everyone. After reading a thread you were on one night, I felt bad after thinking about a joke I made on a previous thread. I decided not to go there again because most people aren't very supportive of transgendered people.

I'm sick and tired of always being at the back of the civil and human rights bus, dammit!!

Seventy percent of my people are un and or under-employed. I, myself, have been unemployed a year! And I don't think ANYONE gives a shit, because things are NOT getting better for us transgender folk.

I have fucking HAD IT with gay this gay that, gay this, gay that...ALWAYS THEY GET THEIR RIGHTS...AND WE GET SCREWED!! I'm just fucking sick of it...I'm so goddamned mad I want to scream and hit things!!

as someone else here referred to it: the continuum of sexuality. get mad and blow off your steam. you have every reason to be pissed. but when you've finished, please take a deep breath and come back with the compassion needed to educate those who lack the awareness, and work with all of us to get change. we NEED each other. every goddam beautiful fucked-up one of us. All I know is....there are days where I am SO pissed off about how left out we are...that I have all I can do to keep from screaming and hitting, and throwing things!!

Goddamn, I saw an episode on Star Trek - The Next Generation tonight, that REALLY hit home for me! i'd never seen this particular episode before.

I Googled later, found out it was Season 5, Episode #17, titled "The Outcast."

It was about a race of people called the J'naii - an androgynous people. They had no gender in their race...everyone was the same. but there WERE a few J'naii who were born, and grew up, feeling as one gender or the other.

The main J'naii character, Soren, had always felt female. And the way Soren's society treated her when they found out what Soren had been hiding all those years...goddamn, I cried my heart out for Soren. and what she said in that episode, before the tribunal that condemned her...was absolutely fucking incredible. If you haven't seen that episode, I recommend it!

Oh, my God, I just could SO relate to Soren!! My mom was watching with me, of course, and I could not help myself, I kept saying, out loud...Oh, God, can I relate, Soren...and You go, girl...tell 'em!! And my mom, who is not exactly accepting but at least tolerant...she said, yes, I know...this is what you feel you go through in our society. And I said, yes.

But then, in the end, she STILL managed to basically give society a pass for treating me shitty and denying me jobs, and placing the onus for the discrimination upon ME, the victim...because...I was the one who changed. Because I refused to continue hiding and living miserable...and allowing everyone ELSE to dictate how I thought and felt, and to dictate what I did with MY BODY!!

Damn, it was just incredible!

I love my mom dearly, but damn, she can get me SO PISSED when she gives society in general a pass on treating me shitty, because "you brought it on yourself, you shoulda not changed..." Suggesting that I should have been forced to remain hiding, living a lie, feeling miserable, not being allowed to be ME...allowing others to dictate what I would think, say, feel...or DO with or to...my own body and mind! As if someone else had a right to title deed to my body and thoughts!!

Damn it made me so fuckin mad!!

With all our wonderful delicious and decadent differences? i don't get it about having to segregate people out by group, just so we can decide how much less to "love" them. i know it happens - but i really truly don't GET it. i shoulda been born on a dif'rent planet....:shrug:
