* MVP -- Citizen Branch:

In August, when Democrats leaders in Washington were still talking about working with the Bush administration on Iraq -- effectively leaving Americans who were growing increasingly ill-at-ease about the war without a voice in the chambers of power -- the mother of a slain soldier followed Bush to his Crawford, Texas, ranchette and asked him to take a few minutes away from his month-long vacation to talk about the quagmire. Cindy Sheehan put the issue of the war back at the forefront of the national agenda, forcing even the dysfunctional White House press corps to start covering dissenters and getting D.C. Democrats to wake up to the reality that the American people had lost faith in the president and his military misadventure.

6. Energizer bunny is right! I am so proud of Cindy.
She did put the war back on the front burner where it belonged and awakened so many people to the fact that we are in a quagmire. No mission, no plan, utter failure by the pResident.

I was one of the thousands that stood vigil with Cindy in Crawford and I will do it again if needed.

5. what a lovely much deserved honor

A dear friend tragically lost her only son in Iraq around Thanksgiving. Cindy then sent her a lovely and comforting letter that moved my friend deeply. I can only assume that Cindy does so for all the moms who have suffered such a needless loss. I'm also quite sure that there that letter was not inclusive of a financial solicitation, nor was it signed by an "autopen." Has anyone ever gotten a similar letter from a politician ?

My tribute to her dearly departed son is about halfway down on this thread. . .

as are "17 tricks or Weapons of Massive Reconstruction for Global Amelioration." The first "8 tricks" of which, are linked to on that thread.

On one thing, we can perhaps all agree. The further enrichment of the greedy members of the PNAC who appear to be void of any conscience whatsoever, is not and could never, ever be even remotely construed as a "noble cause." "Spreading democracy" is utterly heinous hypocrisy.

Cindy just might have earned herself a Nobel Peace Prize as well. She certainly warrants one for far more than sitting in that ditch.

That lawn chair is a National Treasure and can become a National Shrine. Let's see if we can have it bronzed real soon. . .

11. The Smithsonian ? Cindy has done a whole lot since Crawford,
and will probably keep making headlines. But there are a lot of things she has said that make her more likely to go down in history as a puppet in my opinion. No matter how beautiful, or righteous Camp Casey was, and remains to this day...... Cindy Sheehan using her incredible overnight popularity to only complain MORE about Democrats is a disservice to us all. I think Cindy could have been a lighting rod for a liberal revolution, but instead she is only chipping away as hard as she can against some Democratic leaders. Camp Casey is no longer what is thought of first with Cindy, first now is that she does not support Senator Clinton, and that everybody who is listening should not support certain Democratic leaders. I see her now as a liability to the 06 elections, not an historical centerpiece.

12. Balderdash! Maybe it's what YOU think of first
In any case, I agree with calling out ALL bad politicians. She isn't the only one. It's a phenomena sweeping the nation.
