House panel clears another $50 billion for Iraq

The next $50 billion bridge fund, which lawmakers expect to cover about six months, would bring the cost of both wars to nearly $450 billion, and many expect that to reach $500 billion by the end of next year. Sen. Robert Byrd of West Virginia, top Democrat on the Senate Appropriations Committee, said the Pentagon was spending about $8 billion a month on Iraq, where costs have climbed, and about $1 billion a month in Afghanistan.

~as US GI's are dying and being ripped apart, physically & mentally by the illegal war that they were sent to fight...

It is so obscene, the wealth that these war-profiteers roll in as the rest of us fade away in obscurity. The obscenity, the perversion, of the growing distance between the haves and the have-nots is mind numbing.

50 billion for six months... or (8+1) * 6 = 54... but, 450 with the additional 6 month appropriation... but only 500 by the
end of NEXT year (in other words... somehow the cost goes down by more than half by the end of this year???)
