Making a donation in their name or even finding out what organizations they themselves have given their name and time to and making a point to frequent the fundraisers and donating. Getting the word out, even in small doses, makes a huge difference. The letter idea would not only make a point to the widows but to the smarmy republicans that pain and loss is not about conservatives or their small minded views of what being a "patriot" is. These women have raised families alone, faced life without the men that they loved, and this abuse of them needs to stop...NOW! Conservatives do not own anyones pain, they cannot put a political price on the families that were destroyed by 9/11 because it makes THEM look better. This isn't window dressing for christ sake. This is real life and no one has any right to tell these women how or when they should mourn and speak out. Heres your money now be quiet about it because our government might look bad? Wouldn't that be the equivalent of hush money? Just a thought.

I hope through my post you didnt think I was supporting her. I think support is the only way that we can make a difference. Hence the letters and emotional uplifting for the widows. :)

I am not sure where you live or how you feel about the offer......but you and I are going to have to watch "Its a Wonderful Life" together and then rally the troops. I couldn't think of a more appropriate battle call. Family and friends need to come as well. My husband loves the movie as much as I do and he makes the best parmesan popcorn on the planet. :) deal?

I feel sorry for them and I think Coulter is an idiot (who wants attention, and who is getting it by making such statements), but I also feel sorry for anyone who loses a loved ones. No one except the families who lost people in 9/11 gets paid by the government. Death is always a tragedy - their tragedy was no greater than anyone else's. 9/11 was a horrible day, but so is watching your mother waste away, dying from cancer, in pain, unable to eat. The pain of the 9/11 families is no greater than anyone else's (and the 9/11 folks got gov't money to help them financially recover from the loss of someone whose salary helped pay the bills - at least some of their financial stress was alleviated).

I'm sure some are going to skewer me for this, but so be it.

I think DU could do better by helping patients dying from some disease or another, rather than by sending flowers, or anything else which involves money, to the widows.

The small subset of political junkies even aware of who she is are watching her circle the drain...

My whole point was we should support the widows she is attacking.
