The woman I detest FAR more than Ms. Coulter

Yesterday on Imus, Mary Matlin — a former counselor to Vice President Cheney and an influential strategist for the White House — defended Ann Coulter’s vicious attack on the 9/11 widows. (In a new book, Coulter says the widows are “enjoying their husband’s deaths.”)

Matalin passed on multiple opportunities from Imus to condemn or distance herself from Coulter’s comments. (Instead, Matalin said she agreed with Coulter’s “larger point.”) She also argued the outrage against Coulter was misplaced, saying “She calls somebody a harpy and you’d think that the world was on fire.” Watch it:

I heard her being interviewed last night for a LONG time on a BBC radio show

couldn't take more than a few seconds at a time, but kept going back. the host was tossing softball after softball to her

totally average people. These folks are nothing special, which may explain how they have managed to bollox everything up so horribly. Karen Hughes is an interesting person, I am still wondering why they banished her to the Middle East and that seems to be what it is an exile.

He asked about the Europeans hating us, and she said all happily, Oh, no, 73% of the Europeans think Europe and the United States should work together!!!

It was an amazing interview, because she'd bloviate around for a few minutes, and then he would just ask the next question with no follow-up at all. He just grimly kept asking question after question, like he had a quota to fit into that half hour.

I heard it really early this morning, and couldn't wake up enough to listen adequately.

The sight of her passing out those books (with Washington, Lincoln, Kennedy and * on the cover) to those middle eastern kids really hit my revulsion trigger. gack.

coulter and maitlin are both pikers, compared to babs bush.

They don't attack their 'extremists' (they nurture them) and only fire toward the left. Only two GOPhers have said anything even remotely negative about Coulter, and then only very, very mildly. That's Pitaki and King - both New Yorkers.

The (so-called) left on the other hand is often called a 'circular firing squad' ... but the most vicious barbs are aimed at the (so-called) 'far' left. Moore gets all kinds of flak from (so-called) 'moderate' democrats. All the right wing has to do is threaten the 'centrists' with insults and they do the 'wet work'!!
