3. Kids have always liked to shock adults. Its part of being a kid.

I think the first 'bad word' I scrawled on anything was 'fuck' when I was about eight. I thought I was Billy the Kid for doing that, a real tough 'ombre. Then my mom saw it and I wasn't such a tough 'ombre for awhile. I was a crying 'ombre.

10. No Shit!
I remember telling my mother that my sister was a "fuckker" when I was about 7 years old. It was not recieved well. On the other hand, my show and tell in 1st grade of a "fuckker triplane" (Folker tri-plane, a ww1 fighter plane from Keiser Whillhelm) was accepted without comment.

O.K. this was 1957. Things have changed a bit since then.

8. misogyny
is still an acceptable bigotry in too many places.
There are still acceptable normalized bigotries in this country and they still go unchallened by too many people with too little empathy, and too small of a heart....and I think it is so very sad and so very wrong.
We all want to be accepted, to havve a chance to be who we are and not be treated like shit because of it,or a second cklass citizen,we all want respect,to be treated equally and to have human rights, and dignity..sadly some people STILL don't get it. And they teach it to their kids.. This post was not a funny joke people..and the fact you assume it's funny says alot about you and your own back-wards unquestioned bad cultural conditioning..even on DU.... Think about it.

9. I don't know. "These days" - have you ever read Catcher in the Rye?
Holden gets upset b/c he sees the word "fuck" on a brick wall of a school. So, I guess it's not a recent epidemic.
