Are you too Sensitive to LOOK at the Children we've Paid to Kill? (graphic
Edited on Tue Jun-13-06 05:07 AM by Philosoraptor

At first it's a bit shocking, especially if you have kids yourself, but, you get used to it after a while.
-------------------------

Two Iraqi children were among nine people killed on Monday in a US raid near a city northeast of Baghdad, while Al-Qaeda in Iraq appointed a little-known militant to succeed Abu Musab al-Zarqawi On another front, the US military said Zarqawi died of serious damage to the lungs caused by shockwaves from a US air strike on his hideout last week, according to autopsy results.

The US military confirmed the civilian deaths and said that seven suspected terrorist were also killed during the raid near the city of Baqouba. It said that three insurgents were wounded and two others detained.

The military said coalition forces received enemy machine-gun fire from a rooftop after arriving at the objective and two people with AK-47s had been seen fleeing the area just prior to the assault.

"Coalition aircraft supporting the ground force immediately suppressed the enemy fire, killing seven," the military said in a statement. It said there were numerous women and children on the scene. "Following the assault, coalition troops discovered two children had been killed. One child was wounded and evacuated for treatment."

1. Please relabel Subject to warn people of the graphic picture; it is really
inexcusable to not warn. You may think you're justified, but you're not. A small percentage of the DU members really could have a traumatic reaction to the picture.

I never supported the war and no, I don't personally feel responsible for the actions of the neocons in the * administration, nor do I feel responsible for the huge percentage of the population who initially supported war in iraq.

2. Please edit your post again
Some people refuse to take responsibility for what has been done in our name and need to see lots more murdered children before we can get over our righteous indignation at seeing these terible photos that, after all, we have nothing to do with. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go fill the Escalade.

3. There's only so much bandwidth.
There are literally thousand of these photos and I've seen many of them, they are gross, they are sickening and sad, but I'm over my shock.

4. Oh, the irony. We must edit posts but we cannot edit the war.
Hiding what we have done and are continuing to do will keep this going for years and years.

By sanitizing the deaths and destruction the media and this corrupt government have made pablum of it.

(Rep. Joe Wilson, R-South Carolina is spewing BS about the lovely war right now on C-Span.)

11. Pro-life. Pro-war. Where's the disconnect?
Somewhere between a fetus and a dead child is a pile of Republican hipcrisy.

What else can one say? I don't know how they can live with themselves.

13. Here they are, at the Columbus OH Statehouse

Nearly 200 people jammed into a statehouse hearing room today for a hearing on a proposed Ohio ban on abortion.

The bill, sponsored by Mount Lookout Republican Tom Brinkman, would make it a felony to perform an abortion or take a woman across state lines to get one.

Supporters of the bill testified first. Dr. John Willke of Cincinnati, the founder of the modern anti-abortion movement, was the first to testify.

Conception is where human life begins, he said.

"You were just a bud, if you please, who became a flower," he said....

Needless to say, these are Republicans who support the war in Iraq. Maybe we should email them THESE pictures.

That's sacred.

War is where that life ends. And that's just fine.

I'm lost. I can't understand them.

I'm sorry. I forget there are republicans on this forum. I've lumped them all together and villified them. I have to think about how I forumulate my thoughts. They aren't all inhuman. Not all republicans are evil. I've always thought they were. But I see posts, just today, that indicate I am wrong. I'm tired. This battle is unneccisary. So much of our time is lost. It didn't need to be this way. And I do blame republicans. Oh well...
