Bush IN COCKPIT of Air Force One when landed in Iraq (PHOTO)

"Only Vice President Dick Cheney, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Secretary of State
Condoleezza Rice were aware Bush had slipped away from Camp David abruptly on Monday night. He spent several hours in Baghdad before returning to Washington.

Aides said he was in the cockpit of Air Force One when it landed in the Iraqi capital with a sharp bank and quick landing."

12. Bush is an imbecile, of course he was in the cockpit of the plane
unsupervised, no doubt. I bet he was trying to push all the buttons and gawking at the gizmos. Like a child folks, that's who 'runs' our country.

I can see them letting him sit up front landing in DC, but flying into an airport where someone could take pot-shots at him as he comes in? Bullshit!

Bush, master of the fast getaway.

And I don't for a moment believe they let him touch any of the stuff in the cockpit (after all, there are dozens of people who would be at risk if * fooled around with AF1).

32. I bet Don Evans wishes he'd thought of that, before that joyride ...
http://www.dubyaspeak.com/incidents.phtml?page=6

"Evans said he'd love to go flying. At the airport he watched Bush stare at the controls, at the panel, and he realized that Bush -- though not admitting it -- had no idea how to fly the thing properly. After finally figuring out how to launch the plane, Bush pushed the Cessna hard down the runway. Evans screamed, "Give it some gas!" The Cessna's warning system was blinking and crackling. Bush tried to lift his craft fast, almost as if he were piloting a jet back in the Texas Air National Guard. The plane wobbled into the air, and the unsubtle maneuvering threatened to shove it into a stall."

Not happening folks! I don't care who he is! AF1 or any other plane! Nice try Shrub, but no dice this time!!!! Sounds like another "I landed the plane on the carrier deck" story to me.

Edited on Tue Jun-13-06 04:38 PM by Historic NY
That shiney blue & silver plane makes one hell of a target, counter measures or no counter measures. Well at least it explains why he was having a long Camp David summit.......yesterday he was too distracted to read or take notes. Pretty soon someone is going to catch on that staying at Camp David beyond the week end means were sneaking in someplace. He has done this at least 2 times before.
