From another thread, he was supposedly referring to Murtha and Kerry:

"Like too many Democrats it strikes me they are ready to give the green light to go to war, but when it gets tough, they fall back of that party's old platform of cutting and running. They may be with you for the first few bullets but they won't be there for the last tough battles," he said.

3. Really Karl?

And where was Karl when the first, last or any bullets in between were flying in Vietnam? Why, enjoying a college deferment, even when he wasn't enrolled as a full-time student! I wonder who died in 1972 and 1973 so that Karl could laze his way through several terms at college carrying less than a full load of classes?
