HELP! HELP! NEED INFO FOR A WINGNUT ASSHOLE
Edited on Wed Jun-14-06 12:49 PM by Chi-Town Exile
Let me tell you about my encounter today.

I have a guy that does my lawn work. Listens to Hannity/Boortz and spews the usual tripe. He had a large job to do at my house and used workers from this other guy's business located in metro Atlanta.

While I was driving on a Sunday afternoon I saw one of this company's minions (probably a partner) with stickers like the following ...

Conservatives Have Ideas
Liberals Have None

Annoy a Liberal
Get a Job etc. etc. Other stupid stickers that I can't even remember because they're so dumb.

Anyway, I accosted this guy this afternoon because he was talking to my lawn guy in front of my house. I just had to run out and tell the f'ing bastard to look at the flag I fly on my house and I AM A LIBERAL. I fly it every day, do you?

To which both men replied he has a huge flagpole.

I said, okay, good for you. I also told my lawn guy that I don't want this f'er's truck on my driveway nor do I care to do any business with him. I asked him how it was he could be so arrogant to put such stickers on his truck. He replied it's a free country. You don't have to use my business, in fact some guy just called me because he liked my stickers and gave me a job.

To which I replied, "Oh that's great you have the rest of the brain dead morons as your client base. How wonderful for you."

He went on to tell me that it was right to not use him. I asked him if he didn't want my money because I'm a Liberal. He said, Yes.

Fine ... he is the ultimate dickhead ... used all the classic talking points, laughed when I said Iraq was about oil and I said, really why aren't we in Darfur? He started talking about Clinton cutting and running in Somalia. Then I mentioned when Clinton bombed Iraq, "Everyone said, No war for Monica" He said he wasn't upset about that bombing. (Score one for his brain, LOL) Told me the economy was growing because of tax cuts. When I remarked to him what he would think of Bill Clinton sitting in a class room for SEVEN minutes he replied, John Kerry did nothing!" To which I replied, "John Kerry isn't the President, he isn't our leader." He then went onto say that Bush didn't know what was going on yet." To which I replied, "Bush didn't know what to do." Funny, he didn't have a comeback for that one.

We went back and forth on some other crap and I mentioned something about our brave men and women being put in harm's way. He said, "Hey, I just came back from a military funeral in Miss." To which I replied, "Good, I'm glad you did since that is more than your pRrsident will do." Again, no snappy comeback.

Sorry so long but I need your help. He told me the practice of not showing flag draped coffins began with the Clinton administration and said he would give me a $100 if I was right. Is he right about that?

I need to know ASAP.

Ooops! Forgot my best line of the day. I mentioned something about shredding the Constitution to which he replied he has a Constitution under glass in his house! LOL I said, "Yeah, right, sure, well you better have a statue of George Bush peeing on it right next to it!" He had NO comeback.

2. Ha!
Clinton did not send one Troop into combat who got killed. bush 41 sent the troops into Somalia. Clinton did not need flags to drape on coffins. And allow me to offer a line which sets the wingers heads on fire:

If Clinton were president on September 11th, there would not have been a terrorist attack because Bill Clinton did not need a terrorist attack.

"If Clinton were president on September 11th, there would not have been a terrorist attack because Bill Clinton did not need a terrorist attack."

Never has the truth been said so artfully.

24. It is the absolute truth
bush and his cabal of criminals needed the perfect storm to create a "war president" which right wing sluts like ann coulter get all wet about. And do you mean to tell me we weren't greeted as liberators.

bush gets a briefing that says bin laden fixing to attack us and what does the worthless motherfucker do? He goes on vacation, looking forward to the day he will become a "war president."

27. Trust me, I can't even begin to put into words my disgust for that man.
His approval is rock bottom, he lets 9-11 happen, either by failure to respond to intel or on purpose, then reads "My Pet Goat" for 7 minutes.

A week or so later he comes out of his bunker, reads a speech written by someone else on a pile of burning rubble to people still in shock, and he suddenly becomes a great President.

If it weren't for places like DU, I'd have given up on American's brain evolution.

3. From a CBS/AP Story dated 4-23-2004
This policy of no photos has been in effect since 1991," said John Molino of the Defense Department. "It has been tested over time and it reflects what families tell us that they would like as far as treatment of shipment of remains."

That 2000 directive mirrored a ban imposed in 1991, at the time of the Persian Gulf War. After the late 1989 invasion of Panama, the first President Bush complained about an incident in which three television networks (including CBS) broadcast split-screen images of the president speaking and coffins arriving at Dover. The president's remarks during the coffins' arrival were jocular, The New York Times reported.

5. Thank You! Thank You!
Think this guy would believe the New York Times? LOL

Also, I forgot another highlight. He told me that Valerie Plame was NOT a CIA officer.

I said, Yes she was, she was working on weapons of mass destruction in IRAN. You know, the country we are supposedly having problems with?

4. Find another landscaper to cut your lawn.
Don't waste your time on him. Quit doing business with assholes. The less money they make the less they have to contribute to the GOP. Tell his other customers he's using convicted sex offenders for labor. Fight slander with slander.

9. Great Idea!
Although it was interesting ... ALL his workers were Hispanic. Betcha they're not legal! LOL

The guy that does my regular work is a nice guy. He got laid off (in Bush's growing economy) from his computer job and started his own business. I don't mind helping him. As I told both of them, stop voting against your own interests.

You know the justification the other guy gave me for not wanting my business. He said "You want to raise my taxes!"

I said, and I quote, "I don't give a fuck about your taxes. You actually think you're getting something back when all the money goes to the top 1%?" He said the economy is growing and pulled up an Investors Daily from the back of his truck. Trying to tell me that was his source. I didn't have the heart or the inclination to get into why what Investors Daily tells him is more spin ... Funny the Investors Daily looked pretty yellow to me since it was still in its plastic from being dropped off in front of his house or business.

15. That's EXACTLY what I did.
The guy doing the yardwork here was a malicious little right-wing asshole. I shit-canned him and went with a retired high school coach and teacher affilated with MoveOn activism hereabouts. The FReeper did a barely acceptable job at a barely acceptable price but was inflexible and a total PITA to deal with. The activist lib was superb - excellent work at a fair price.

Liberals do better work at fairer prices!

6. 1. Ask him if he thinks it's appropriate to use........
the United States Constitution as a coaster. 2. Fire his ass. Pay him for the work that he's already done, and find somebody else to complete the job. 3. He's supposed to be working, but he's hanging out discussing politics. That does not indicate a strong work ethic to me. 4. Spread the word to people, don't hire this guy for landscaping work, he just stands around and talk politics.

20. I didn't say anything about President Asshat
and the policy. I just said, "We can't even see the flag draped coffins." That's when he went into the Clenis bullshit. Surprised he didn't mention something about it's mighty powers.

I think it is a wash, though ... technically I should get the $$ because I said Clinton did not institute that policy. I honestly forgot that it was Daddy Bush (technically Cheney -- from the research I just did on Google)that put the policy in place. I really did think (though not sure) it was President Asshat and Friends that did it.

The second mistake was to think you could discuss anything rationaly with facts.

The third mistake is not to fire them on the spot and get them off your property imedietely.

Only if they asked why would I of told them that I found thier bumber sticker unprofessional and partisian hackery you want no part of.

end of story.

16. The guy I was arguing with was contracted by MY Landscaper
to do work and I was telling BOTH of them that I did not want to do business with the other guy's company and I would get the word out to people that if they have differing political views they need not call this guy since he doesn't want their business.

I had to speak to him because I see so MANY small business owners with Bush/Cheney stickers in metro Atlanta and I'm just flabbergasted. If I had my own business there is no way in HELL (unless I was talking to like minded individuals) I would put any political, religious or ANY sticker on my business vehicles!

Shows you the difference between Pugs and Dems.

Another interesting note ... in our go around about his right to put stickers on his vehicle, he said to me, "You know nothing about me!" I replied, "Oh yes, I do, I see all I need to know by the stickers you put on your business vehicle."

I would bet that $100 that he never thought about his stickers in that way. Who knows? Maybe he'll be like Luke Skywalker when Obi-Wan told him that "You've just taken a step into a larger world ..."
Nah ... he'll be like dumbass Anakin in the last installment of the Star Wars movies! LOL

Only wish I wasn't so angry when I approached him... my voice was cracking due to anger and acid reflux! LOL He did remark, "You on the Left are so angry!" I replied, "Damn right I am and if you're not angry you haven't been paying attention!"

12. One of my neighbors uses a flooring guy whose van sports a sticker saying:
Osama bin Laden thanks Allah for John Kerry. My neighbor recommended this guy very highly for some work I need done on my house, but there's no way in hell I'll give business to this asshole. I love when Republicans tie their skewed beliefs so closely to their businesses. It makes my decisions so much easier.

18. The quality of their workmanship usually matches the quality of their
... thinking as reflected in their bumperstickers. I say that based on experience with both ends of the spectrum in dozens of cases over the past three years here in Oakland County. It's really rather remarkable, and I probably would've resisted making such a connection before the last three years. These people really are Enronized.

in Mississippi and he slays Liberals with his mighty bumperstickers making Metro Atlanta safe for bigots and assholes everywhere! LOL When I was discussing Rove I did point out how sold they all are on this war and they never served when it was their time to serve. He started to shout me down with some nonsense I don't remember. I'm sure if he was a Veteran he'd have the appropriate stickers and would be just salivating to tell me so.! LOL

These guys are all the same. When you present them with a rational argument that they know nothing about. Out comes the CLENIS!!! lol

We got into a little bit about New Orleans to which he told me the people that didn't have cars because of democratic policies and that blacks are starting to flock (my words, not his) to the Republican party.

I got real pissed and said, "What the fuck have Republicans ever done for the black community?" No reply.

21. Why did you even bother starting an argument with this guy?
From the way you wrote your post, it sounds like you got in their faces because you didn't like what the guys were saying to each other. Why does this even matter, as long as your lawn gets mowed?

I don't agree with them or anything, but why look for conflict? There's enough of it out there without looking for it.

30. That is why everyone I know in Tuscaloosa uses a old alky called "Rakes."
He works pretty cheap, and just slip an extra $10 in his shirt pocket and he'll clean the gutters out, too. He moved 750# of topsoil from a truck to my backyard and only wanted $25 and a sixpack.
The only drawback is that he "borrows" other people's implements. He doesn't always remember where he got them from. But that isn't really a problem, as he is always in the neighborhood and if one puts a stray pair of shears on the sidewalk they ususally find their way to their proper place. Some Yankees don't understand and are intolerant of his idiosyncricies. All of Rakes regular users are shocked and outraged when they seem upset that he borrows their laddes or edge trimmers. As I explained, "Give him $20 and a beer and a six pack of the cheapest beer you can find and he'll do everything in the yard. Don't worry about your stuff, he can't carry it very far on his bike."
Now that's my kind of yard service. No lip, not a word usually, except 'thanks for the beer, sir.' He was amazed at a butler's pantry, by the way and said, "Lord, they got a swinging door from the dining room to the kitchen and a whole room full of food to his nephew who came to help one day. Obviously not very many of his clients had ever invited him inside. Those damned liberals treating the help like they were humans!
