Could Coulter be held liable for inciting violence?
I brought this point up once before, but after seeing the release of yet another book full of her "kill the filthy liberals" hate speech, I can't help but think it's only a matter of time before one of her readers is influenced by her books and blows up a gay bar or guns down some people in Massachussets. If this happens, could Coulter be sued by the victims' families for encouraging the violence? The only problem is that it would be similar to incidents where movie and videogame makers have been sued over school shootings, but such cases have never succeeded because of the 1st Amendment. The difference though, is that unlike the entertainment industry, Coulter actually WANTS to incite violence, so there is malicious intent. Also, unlike RW hate speech, videogames have never been proven without a doubt to cause violence.

1. I would think it would be like the SHAQ 7...
They were sentenced for just putting information on their website...other's took it upon themselves to commit the crimes.

2. Interesting question
since "conservatives" in America believe they are always right and do not need to be held liable for anything or held accountable for anything. bush backers could not possibly accept the idea that coulter should be held accountable for her writings. bush backers are the number one domestic enemy of the constitution in America today.

4. I fear that just like the videogame suits, it would fail
They'd say it's because of the 1st Amendment, but it would really be because she's a Republican

Still, if she ever did cause a Columbine-like incident, she should be sued if for no other reason than to show her that we won't tolerate her using her 1st Amendment rights to make death threats

5. I just wish the media would ignore her
No legal consequences would be appropriate. After all, you can even buy "Mein Kampf" at Borders.

6. Nah - she is a Republican. If she were a Democrat, she would be boiled in
oil.
