Vote In House Today On Whether To Remove Jefferson
from the Ways and Means Committee. Tim Curran of Roll Call was just on C-Span talking about it. Personally, I don't care that he hasn't been indicted. I thought he should have stepped aside from this Committee when the FBI found marked bills in his freezer. Thanks in large part to Jefferson the meme about the repub culture of corruption is dead as a dodo.

2. If that were the guiding rule
the ethics committee would never have censured Delay. It's just silly to set a biblical command for a template for the House.

3. Hi Cali. I just find it ironic that there may be at least one
Edited on Thu Jun-15-06 06:45 AM by no_hypocrisy
congressional representative on the Ethics Committee who may not be able to justify accepting a contribution from a well-meaning lobbyist and this representative will then condemn Jefferson before the conclusion of an investigation. That's all. And since the New Testament and being Christian sre in vogue these days in the Capital, I figured, hey, throw them a principle since congress critters aren't exactly reading their Constitution.

4. If the Democrats are running on a theme of Republican
Culture of Corruption, they must show a complete lack of hypocrisy by removing those accused so that the business of governing can continue instead of the business of defending yourself at the taxpayer teat.
