What could we do with $8 billion a month ?

That is the present estimate of what we are spending in Iraq per month. It's Keynesian economics in Baghdad! What could we use that money for here in the states? The sad part is that we could never get Congress or at least the Republicans to ever vote for any program to spend that much in rebuilding our nation. We can build roads and schools in Iraq as our own roads and schools decline. What the fuck is wrong with this picture?

We have now spent over $450 billion dollars, every bit of it off the books, since Bush decided he would invade. Tha tis not monopoly money. We will have to pay that back. Most of the debt will be given to our children and grandchildren. How much is it worth to see Iraq "democratized" with a theocratic-run government? There will be no democracy. How much is it worth to see the price of oil at $3.00 and above forever? We are not goign to see cheaper gas prices. Just what is that we are supposed to get from this "war" in Iraq? Can you name anything? Not one damn thing! This bullshit about Iraqis want to be free is simply that - bullshit. If they want freedom, let them fight for it. Why should our people continue to die so they can bow down to the Ayatollahs? It is a waste. A fucking waste.
