Brian Unger, Bob Shrum really going after Rove on KO
talking about how unseemly it is for a man like Rove to accuse the dems of being cowardly, cutting an running, while mentioning that he never served

pretty amazing exchange

and NO RW apologist on for "balance"

what a refreshing turn of events

Unger's doing a fantastic job, btw.

I just turned it on three or four minutes ago, so I dunno what was the #5 (first story)

anybody else see this?

worth catching in three and half hours....

1. Sounding more and more like Mean Jean Schmidt. One of their finest
moments.

2. Shrum actually made sense tonight.
I'm shocked. He said Democrats who think the war is wrong need to come out and say it and quit trying to have both sides of the issue. Basically, quit playing politics and start speaking out on what they believe.

And also start hitting back at Rove and other republicans who question the patriotism of Democrats.

3. I'll watch it later. Your point about not having to deal with a RW shrill
Edited on Thu Jun-15-06 07:43 PM by LisaM
is a good one. I just realized, when you said that, how tired I am of listening to RWers belabor their talking points over and over instead of just admitting the truth of an issue or incident.

14. You know what it reminded me of?
I went a number of years without having watched a Michigan game in Ann Arbor - just aaw a number of them on the road, either basketball games in Seattle, or football games on the West Coast - or in a bar. I was always in the minority as far as fans went. I finally got back to Ann Arbor to see a game and the relief of just not having to deal with all those people who hate Michigan was enormous! I'd forgotten what it was like to be in a friendly atmosphere. I think that's why your statement stirred a reaction in me. I look forward to watching it.

20. Yah he's the one
that would be the last one picked if you were choosing up sides. The team captain would say, Oh God, I get Shrum.

What a dufus.

5. It was a remarkable segment. Schrum made and excellent point about
some politicians being for the Vietnam War in the beginning and then changed their stances. I also loved how it was brought up about Rove never serving in the armed forces! That was great!

I wasn't at all impressed with Shrum as a campaign manager, but he really took some good, hard swings at Rove, and also said the Dems shouldn't be afraid to stand up and oppose the war. Unger was excellent, too -- he referred to Rove's practice of sliming opponents as "standard GOP" tactics.

10. Maybe Shrum has finally opened his eyes - he should NEVER have listened to
Bill "don't bash Bush" Clinton.

13. Shrum was always one of the toughest Dem spokesmen
I don't know what happened to him in the Kerry campaign, but I always wished there were more Bob Shrums fronting for Democrats in the media.

19. Did you catch his remark about Lieberman?
Edited on Fri Jun-16-06 01:43 AM by ribrepin
I'm paraphrasing "Joe Lieberman who supports the war with Bush, should stand up for Democrats who's patriotism is being attacked by the right-wing." Good one, Schrum. Time for Joe to prove he's a Democrat.

If old Joementum would have stood up for Democrats instead of attacking their patriotism, maybe he wouldn't have a primary challenge now. Dumb ass Talk Show Joe.

"It is time for Democrats who distrust President Bush to acknowledge that he will be Commander-in-Chief for three more critical years, and that in matters of war we undermine Presidential credibility at our nation's peril"?
Joe Lieberman--2006
