4. We don't ,we have deaf mutes for leadership
They want middle of the road policies, not progressive ones. When I see Pelosi and Reed on the TV twice a week or more holding press conferences or appearing on Tweety or Wolf Blitzo or hitting the morning circuit and repeating a coherent platform I'll say they're wrong. The Thuglies control everything, but we have church mice for leadership. THAT is why Murtha needs to challenge Stoyer.

10. It's really great that they have it on their website
...but not everyone goes online. What they really need is some good face time. They need to plaster this message EVERYWHERE. And they need to be relentless about it. They can't give the repubs a chance to get a word in edgewise. With our corporate media, that's going to be difficult - but the dems have GOT to do it.

13. These are not positions, they're vague generalized bullshit
that says absoutely nothing. Who ISN"T against security, energy independence, economic prosperity and a health care system that works.

Actually taking positions on something would go something like this:

1) All troops home from Iraq within 1 year. The war is not protecting our national security interests and we should help Iraqis take control as much as possible, but we will be gone in 12 montsh.

2) Our homeland security is in miserable shape. We must secure our borders and our ports as priority number 1. Once we are home from Iraq, our resources must be poured into making our nation safe at its borders. We are the party that is truly concerned with protecting its citizenry.

3) We are the party that believes in privacy rights. That means we won't be trying to tell you as a family when or when not to pull grandma's plug. That is a private decision between a family and their physician. We are also the party that believes in stem cell research and we do not think government should be passing restrictive laws impeding this vital science. We also firmly believe in the citizen's private right to bear arms, as protected under the 2nd amendment.

4) While we believe in less regulation for small businesses, we also believe that corporations have been allowed to systematically rape the working man and avoid responsibility through outsourcing. We are the party of the American worker and we will defend worker's rights against corporate hegemony.

5) We also believe that the well being and protection of the environment trumps corporate greed and we will ensure that big business is not allowed to kill the earth. Businesses must be responsible environmental citizens.

Run against corporate greed, run for privacy rights, run against Iraq and for responsible security at home.

And make those positions strong and forceful.

reveal their plan to end the war, create jobs, introduce a real tax plan, and a real energy plan (not wriiten by the oil companies)etc, etc and it would go unheard because the f king MSM would not report it. The newspapers would not print it but let one f king Republican bash a Democrat and its reported 100 times before the first commercial break. I look at it as a burnishing, or toughening, if you will. They look at it as getting some face time with the uneducated masses. A dare, if you will.

11. Dem's message
They say what Randy said on her show this week quote: the democratic party doesn't agree on one issue as a whole and there should be differences of opinions in the party on any issue. and the re pubs are lock step with the Whitehouse whatever they do and that shouldn't be there should be some re pubs that stand up from the rest of the party and say thats wrong.

15. "How do you counter that point?"
What kind of "Freeper-phrasing" question is that?

The Nazis had a unified message too.

Most Dems are against the Bush War - that's pretty unified.

19. What Scarborough is really saying is...
We just can't seem to nail down all the Democrats into a single position that the Republicans can start pounding on relentlessly.

Come 2008 if the people want a Dem candidate who wants us to pull all our troops out of Iraq? No problem we will have some.

They want a candidate thats going to feed them a line of crapollo that we can win in Iraq? We will have some of them too.

They want a candidate suggesting something in between those two options we will be able to accommodate those folks too.

This drives the Rethugs nuts. They don't know how to deal with it.

Don
