Can Democrats PLEASE unite behind a message?
I'm running out of patience. It's funny. Senator Dipshit from Hillbillyville can say we need to round up all the poor blacks and send them to work camps and all the other gop's would line up and say "great idea" senator Dipshit! John Kerry says we need to set a date in 2006 for leaving Iraq and what do dems do? Well, you know the rest

8. You and Katinmn are absolutely right
which was pointed out more than a few times on that thread.

I just put it out there, though, as food for thought, so to speak -- a starting point?

As you may see from my own post on that thread, I'm working within my own small area to define our message when walking and talking to folks. We'll draw from a few sources, but our message will not leave out our thoughts on the war.

11. The problem is that the leadership won't acknowledge that
the war is THE major issue for many of us. We can and do talk constantly among ourselves.

We are not the ones that introduce and vote on bills. We are dependent on them and they are ignoring us. They act like if they don't mention "it," it will disappear. It is frustrating as hell.

13. As it turns out...
John Kerry was right all along. It seems over 80% of I raqis and their government want us to either set a time table, leave completely or leave within 18 months

6. HAD ENOUGH????????
This rag reports the term from a GOP spin, ignoring previous coiners of the phrase, but then, they always suck up to the majority party, it's how they play the game:

http://www.hillnews.com/thehill/export/TheHill/News/Campaign/061506.html

In an interview yesterday, Roemer said the idea for the op-ed came to him after reading a story about Harry Truman that recounted that an advertising executive in 1946 suggested “Had Enough?” to the Republican Party, which adopted the slogan. Later that year, Republicans gained control of both chambers of Congress.

During her speech to the liberal group Campaign for America’s Future this week, Pelosi asked the crowd, “Have you had enough?”

“Yeah!” the crowd replied, as it did to each of her “had enough” questions:

“Have you had enough of a war that has failed to make America more secure? Have you had enough of paying higher prices for gasoline and prescription drugs in order to increase the profits of pharmaceutical and oil companies? Have you had enough of seeing America led in the wrong direction?”

She concluded, “I thought so.”

The campaign slogan of Ed Perlmutter, running in the Democratic primary in Colorado’s 7th District, is “Had Enough? Time for a change.” The incumbent in that district, Republican Bob Beauprez, is retiring....

Hey, it works for me!

12. because its the thinkers vs the nonthinkers
we can't agree on whether Islamic fundamentalism is a problem we should be fighting. Yes, the Iraq war was the wrong war but I have doubts about the morality of walking away now. I listen to Murtha (and others) and I become convinced then I read blogs from "ordinary people" in Iraq begging us to stay to keep them safe and it breaks my heart and I feel a moral obligation to not leave them to Iraq's version of the Taliban.

It would be easier for me to listen to one news source which spoon fed me propaganda and one set of leaders who were sure about their answers to questions like these. But I'm too curious.

14. The answer, unfortunately is no.
And we've needed unity to stop all this crap. But that's why it hasn't or won't stop so far.
