Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has been replaced
so much for our progress against terrorism

Abu Ayyub al-Masri, also known as Sheikh Abu Hamza al-Muhajer, was thought to be based in Baghdad.

1. I knew something was wrong the past couple days.
I didn't know who I was supposed to be living in fear of.

3. That has always been the problem
We are not at war with a country but just ptentially millions of like minded in ideology. How the hell do you ever stop this? ONE dies and there are many behind him to take over....not that much different than street gangs.

7. Mr Berg was right. Revenge brings revenge. Bush should know how
organized crime bosses are replaced as soon as one is whacked. Are Americans *really* that stupid to think this would help. Especially since intel told BushCo they could take Zarqawi out a few different times before the war.

8. Does he have one eye or two?
Edited on Fri Jun-16-06 12:17 AM by threadkillaz
It appears the disinfo is on. The corpmedia is spreading two spellings on the supposed "new" guy, and using a younger picture.

Is it al-Masari or al-Masri? Does he have one eye or two?

Baghdad - The United States military predicted on Thursday that an Egyptian-born lieutenant, known as Abu al-Masri, will succeed slain Al-Qaeda leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Major-General William Caldwell of the US forces said the military has been aware of al-Masri's movements for some time and believe he first came to Iraq in 2002.

Abu al-Masri who is tipped to succeed slain Al-Qaeda leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

However, M$NBC is now reporting the "al-Masari" spelling, as are 9 other sources below. They just showed the younger man with both eyes shown in the original post.

Perhaps it is him younger. Or they decided to switch guys since this al-Masri character above seems a little old to be running around Iraq as the One-Eyed Wonder.

Note this little known fact too.

"al Qaeda in Iraq is a very small organization and al Qaeda in Iraq is a very small percentage of the overall insurgency, perhaps as much as 5 percent at the maximum," Clarke said. (Article should read Caldwell said)

You heard it right. AQII is only 5% of the insurgency. The way the news pushed AQII, you'd think they were a bigger part. They are, but as a propaganda campaign on the American people to justify our existence. ;)
