A day after Coulter love-fest, Leno's unforgivable joke about Kennedy
Jay: Hey, kev.

Kevin: What's up, Jay?

What's the difference between al Zarqawi and Patrick Kennedy?

Kevin: I don't know. What's that?

Jay: Patrick Kennedy will get bombed again. That's about the only difference.

1. Politicians are open to this type of criticism
Coming from a prominent political family with a history of substance abuse just makes you a bigger target.

This seems fairly tame as far as things to get outraged about go.

3. The Kennedy family has inoculated itself against criticism.
And abusive jokes. I read where Ted even met the Dead Kennedys and has their records. Different I know but shows the Kennedy approach to life.

4. That's about the only difference?
Um, yeah. I guess Kennedy has killed hundreds or thousands of people by bombing and beheading and whatnot. The joke was bad but the last line, the part you highlighted, is what gets me.

:wtf:

5. What gets me is the political sacrifice the Kennedy family has
given to this country, only to be smeared for years and years by hypocritical cons!

6. Isn't that a threat against a federal official?
It sounds like a terroristic threat to me!

7. Old joke anyway...
Anyone got Sinatra and Basie live at the Sands? (1960s vintage, I think.)

In it, The Chairman makes a crack that "Dean Martin has been stoned more often than our embassies".

16. That is a most excellent album
The Basie Orchestra was TIGHT that night.

And that Sinatra joke is tres droll...but I particularly like his reaction when the crowd laughs and he worries aloud with a wink and a grin if they want to stone more embassies.

19. A couple of years ago at Christmas
My husband was trying to figure out what to get for his sister. I suggested the movie "Pearl Harbor" on video. I told him that way she could watch somebody other than her husband get bombed.

8. Is this joke real?
Besides being offensive, it isn't even funny.

10. Bill Hicks used to eviscerate Leno all the time.
Leno was painfully unfunny 15 years ago. He's worse now.

17. "One night Jay is going blow his brains out on national TV with an uzi
and it's going to form a big bloody red NBC peacock on the wall behind him, because Jay is a company man, til the bitter fucking end."

18. Your username talking about Hicks reminds me of Beelzebozo.
"Hi kids, it's Beelzebozo time! Tell me something, who here outta you youngins has never smoked a cigarette? Who here outta you youngins has never watched a skin flick? See them, them's titties!"

Beelzebozo, the clown from hell.

12. What the hell?
A guy goes out, and drives while under the influence, and instead of you being upset about that, you're pissed at a joke about it?

Isn't that kind of stupid? I am still pissed off at the lack of a "debate" between Carlin and Coldheart (I wanted her ass handed to her, and any other body parts she might have), but come on already. Sometimes you have to laugh, I think it is a medium to fair joke, but it isn't *that* big of a deal. I hope Pat Kennedy is doing better, and I hope didn't hear the joke (because that would probably make him depressed and the poor fella doesn't need anymore pain), but that doesn't mean the rest of us can't laugh every once and a while. Of course if Leno only wails on Democrats, I will be upset by that, but until I hear about him only picking on us, I won't get bent out of shape.

*Let's all send Pat Kennedy good vibrations to make up for Leno's joke. Wish you the best of luck fella!

that time slot when Carson retired.

15. Kevin might have reminded Jay that Patrick's car killed less people
than Laura Bush's . . . but I would hate to give up that kind of gig, so I can forgive Kevin . . .
