It's not a "War on Terror"; call it what it is: War on Islam.

It just hit me this morning that Bush has pulled off a feat worthy of the George Orwell Hall of Fame. He's fighting a war against Islam, but he doesn't dare call it that. I don't mean to get into a discussion of the nature of Islam. I just want to point out that the only terrorists George is going after are Moslems who interfere with US access to oil or other natural resources. He's suckered us into this war without letting us discuss if it's one we want or need to fight. If he'd called it a war on Islam, how many people would have supported him at the beginning? He almost slipped up when he called it a Crusade. Who knew that calling it a Crusade was the literal truth?

Not using them to communicate but to obfuscate.

Evil bastards that they are, and the press follows them blindly, adopting their terms.

Notice how they said Rove was "exonerated." There is no indication of that. It is a misuse of the word. To black and white thinkers, "acquitted" "exonerated" and "innocent" mean exactly the same thing. There is no room in their minds for subtle meanings.

In my opinion, to someone who believes this, thinks that there is an inherent flaw in Islam which creates terrorists, thus in order to win TEH WAR ON TERRA', you need to either destroy or convert all Muslims.

If I may be candid, these Old Testamericans make me want to puke. I am a non-violent man, and very proud of it, but if they keep shoving their Fundafascism down our throats a breaking point will surely happen.

Everyone dances around it, making jokes about airline security searching old ladies, but everyone knows that it's one group of people the US is going after. The problem is that instead of going after the criminals who planned 9/11, Bush has dragged us into a major conflict with the all members of a major religion. Only the dittoheadfreeperbots have admitted this. They know that Terrorists is code for Moslems with oil. The rest of us would never continue to go along with this if it was laid out clearly what is going on. We know that Islam is not our enemy.

I don't think that this has much to do with Islam per se. It's all about the oil. The people fighting us may feel threatened by Western influences, but we wouldn't be there except for the oil. We never needed to go to war with Afghanistan or Iraq. We should have treated the people directly involved with 9/11 as criminals, not soldiers. The people who bombed the World Trade Center the first time are rotting in prison.

This is not a war on terror...this is a war to control the flow and price of oil. Religion is being used as a diversion tactic because it works so nicely. Our "noble cause" is Bushspeak for the "oil industry needs higher profits." It all boils down to this.....everything else is hogwash.

It's a kind of double-bluff.

The anti-muslim dog-whistle is used to rile up the base and keep them supportive of whichever muslims W happens to want to attack (Iraq at the moment, could be Iran next).

But they're being played because B*shco have massive financial and personal links to the heart of fundamentalist Islam - Saudi Arabia, a country which has gained enormously from the high oil prices caused in big part by B*shco chaos in Iraq and sabre-rattling against Iran. (Also Saudi Arabia gains by having US troops move out of their country and take down rival powers such as Iraq and Iran). Not to mention B*shco links to UAE and about half a dozen other muslim countries.

At the same time Saudi Arabia seems to play the same trick by keeping their disaffected youth busy hating the west/zionism whilst their elites happily do massive business deals with the West.

(NB: W's bluff was called when he tried to sell the ports to the UAE, I think many Americans had a realisation then that W is palying a game with them).
