Should John Murtha be Majority Leader?
If Democrats win the House in November? I know he is a conservative Democrat and a "hawk" but he has stood up for the troops in Iraq and for our Party quite admirably. He is a difficult Leader for the Repubs to attack. His strong military credentials would be a plus for our Party as long as the Repubs continue to proclaim themselves the Party of a strong national defense. just a thought...

4. and who should that be
I am not saying Murtha should or should not, but just on the grounds of job performance I do NOT think Representative Pelosi has done a very good job

3. He'd be a poor choice.
He's pretty conservative on domestic issues. Naral gives him a 0% rating, the Christian Coalition a 50% and the NRA gives him 100%. He'd increase the party's divisions at a time when unity is required.

5. No. He's too far to the right on every other issue to
make sure the right bills get to the floor, so everyone gets equal representation. I have that problem with Reid, too, at times, but Murtha would be worse.

Bless him for speaking out on the war, though.

13. Yes
The Democrats need to take a stand against Bush and become a real opposition party. Bush is not just another conservative president; if he were that, we could abide by him even if we don't agree with him.

We don't oppose Bush. We resist him.
