7. Before we blast them TOO MUCH
realize that this whole thing was strictly political theater.....Rove wanted to get some Dems "on the record" as being against "the war on terrah"...it is simply gotcha stuff...I'll bet that most Dems that voted "FOR" this are from swing districts or repub leaning districts.....some votes I don't give them a pass on....but, for this, this piece of crap "non-binding" resolution....I do....especially if it means keeping that seat for the Dems and restoring a Dem House majority.

14. On this resolution, what would have happened if
the Dems all stated that since it is going to pass no matter what they did, under protest, they had all voted yes just to take away the pukes talking points.

15. These are human lives we're talking about
I can't tell how disgusted I am that these Democrats care more about keeping their seat than these young men and women getting killed in Iraq for no goddamned good reason.

3. We get the government we deserve.
It's sad, really, that this is the best we can do.

8. This is a great example of why I don't think "electing Democrats"
should be our only priority. Electing GOOD Democrats is what matters.

What do we accomplish by gaining seats when we're electing complete morons?

16. do we really???-
or do 'we' get the government that is sold to those vote without engaging their brains? Or do we get the government that buys, lies, and strongarms its way into power???

I agree that the pisspoor spine of the democrats is incredibly depressing. But where ARE our 'Supermen' those men and women who sincerly DO care more about 'truth' 'justice' and (as G.Carlin so sadly has to note) "The American Way"-???
Can we buy our way in? Cause it seems that is the only thing that is going to do it- that or violence- Reason, thought, and sacrifice are things that the voting public seem to have lost touch with- But "WE" is too big a word to say that what exists is what you or I 'deserve'-
It's beyond sad- its criminal.

And hope is growing scarce- or becoming a depleted resource for life on earth.

9. That's sarcasm, right?
"Hurray" for a bunch of idiots who couldn't see that this resolution was nothing more than Republican propaganda designed to make Democrats look bad? Only THREE Dems got it right (maybe 12 if you count the NVs). There was absolutely no way to "win" this vote...the only intelligent move was to refuse to play.

Our "courageous Democrats", once again, failed.

17. some failed, others stood firm
so you didn't get your way. They didn't walk out. Tough shit at this point.

We still had the majority of our Democrats reject the ploy. Hurray for them!

18. By voting, even "Nay", they fell for the ploy.
Did you read the entire resolution? In case you haven't:

http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/msnbc/sections/news/060616_War_Resolution.pdf

It's a minefield. There's no way to vote "Yea" or "Nay" on it without giving Republicans ammunition. The ONLY intelligent response was to vote "Present".

Show me, please, how a "Nay" vote did ONE bit of good.

19. I think it's a wash. The resolution was meaningless
It was against the public opinion. I don't see how they can use it for anything. I think they only hurt themselves when they bring up the Iraq fiasco.

10. Yes! I'm impressed.

Four defectors is nothing, given the loaded nature of this phony resolution. I don't get to say it often: bravo Congressional Dems.

Edit: Oops. Guess I misread.

Never mind.

12. I'm not angry at all
Cause this is a senstive "on the record bill" this bill was specically made to see who supports "the war on terror" and who dosen't. Dems were playing it safe and i thank them.

Plus it really wasn't a pullout bill, it was a bill just stating the following:

-the u.s will prevail on the war on terror
-it was right to get hussein out of power
-congratulating the iraq p.m

Some Democrats that do not support the war like Mike Ross(AR) and Bart Stupak(MI)voted for the resolution cause they agree with the things above. And I bet some Democrats voted for the resolution cause yes they do live in swing districts and they want to stay alive like Leonard Boswell(IA) and Dan Boren(OK). But some Democrats voted for this cause they actually support the war like Steve Israel(NY).

So don't get angry at Democrats that didn't vote for the resolution, this was a trick bill to get Democrats caught in the middle cause we supposely cut and run. Now get angry at them if this was actually a troop withdrawal bill.

A majority of Democrats voted againist the resolution and that's fine with me. We had a great 10 hour debate yesturday and it's now time to move on.

20. The Democrats did a good job...
42 really isn't that many. The vast majority of Democrats, inluding the likes of Steny Hoyer and Harold Ford said it's time to set a timetable. Harold Ford especially deserves our support. He has a tough election for Senate in Tennessee and the Repubs are already attacking his no vote.
