'Nother run in with ma neighbor . . .
Bumped inta ma neighbor agin. He’s out movin’ the sprinkler ‘round the front yard same as me. Not tryin to keep tha grass green ya understan, just tryin ta keep it alive. Under water rationin’ don’t ya’ know.

Hot ‘nough for ya’? I sez.

Hoo boy I recon, he says, but not as hot as it was fer that Zar-cow-ee feller.

Yeah, I say, he was a bad un fer sure an I’m glad to see ‘im gone. Too bad theys already got a ‘placment fer ‘im.

But we got ‘im an that’s the ‘portant part, know whut I mean?

Well, I say, if we only git the number two guy every year or so it’s gonna’ be a long row to hoe don’cha think? What ever happened to that Laden feller?

We’ll git him someday. Gotta stay the course. T’was up them Dem’crats we’d already cut-n-run.

Uh, which Dem’crats is that?

Ya’ know, that Murtha feller and Kerry too. Ya’ jus can’t count on ‘em to stan up under pressure. Yep, they jus’ cut-n-run at the first shot.

Now wait a minute, theys a mile between stayin’ tha course ‘n cut-n-run, don’cha rekon? Jack Murtha says we should move some troops to Koo-wait. Make the I-rakis work harder but be there if theys needed. Kerry says give the I-rakis a time table so they’ll git off their butts and train like the mean it. Either one makes more sense then what we’s doin’ now. My rite ur rong?

Naw, theys jus cowards is all.

Where’d ya’ hear that?

Everbody knows that. Rove said it, so did Rush Limpbaa and that feller O’Riley on the news channel an all them ‘Publican congressmen.

Huh, did’ja know that Rove, Rush and most of them other fellers never served a day? Never wore the uniform. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not questionin’ theys patriotism, I’m jus sayin’ . . .

Ya’ mean to tell me that only Dem’crats is patriotic . . .

Now hold on there! Theys lots of fine Rebub’cans served proudly and did a hell-uv-a-job. Jus they ain’t tha ones talking big and all. Nope, they seem to be real quiet when it comes to callin’ folks cowards. It’s like scars look funny to folks what ain’t been hurt.

Well, they all seem to know more than I do so I rekon I’ll jus listen ta them what knows.

OK. Fair ‘nough. So tell me, suppose ya find ya’self in a sit-e-ation whar folks is a shootin’ at ya. Ya go two fellers talking to ya, one spent 30 years in the Marines an led men in kombat an t’other ain’t never held a gun. Who ya gonna listen to?

Well, when ya put it like that, he sez an wanders back off to hiz place.

So I come back in tha house and my wife looks up at me from her lady’s magazine an says, Ya been at it agin ain’t ya.

Well, yeah, guess so.

When ya gonna learn Hon? Makes no never mind what ya say, he ain’t gonna change. Now be sweet an get me sa’more tea so I won’t have bother the cat.

3. Hee hee
the Kool Aid drinkers around my neck of the woods have been verrrry quiet when it comes to veterans' issues, mainly because our local Guard unit has been deployed and redeployed, and folks are seeing how terribly Bushco is treating their loved ones.

is enjoyable to read. Most of it is really true--the fella next door is a treasure trove of talking points. Just pull the string . . .

Upon re-reading I see two mistakes. You know what I mean is actually one word: Kno-whut-ah-mean. and so is Am I right or wrong: My-rite-r-wrong.
